Just wanting to know if anybody has heard the specifics of the new proposal.

Then a quick vote on Saturday or Sunday at the union hall so that the leaders can put the fear of "where else you gonna go" into you.

fear of " WHERE ELSE YOU GONNA GO " key words that the BA's will say !!! so nice to be working at a job where " fear is used as a factor" to get votes !!!!

Do you have a answer to that question? Is there someplace for all 26000 of us to go that will pay the same with the same benefits and vacation time?
I too wish it didn't have to be asked but an awful lot of guys don't seem to think of it until it's too late they seem to be to caught up in the bravado.
Each of us has to answer that question and vote on what is best for him or her not what they think their grandfathers would have done.
 
The question should be, Do we keep going backwards? They have come to us 4 times in 5 years. They got the first 3 with no real trouble with the union tearing up white paper contracts. How long before they come back for more? If this passes with purchased transportation included with the extra 6%, you can mark my words , they'll close small terminals with another change. What else are they going to take? I'll wait to see. Just remember it will be 5 years before you get a chance to ask for anything, they just have to make a phone call.

Isn't starting over somewhere new for less going backwards?

Look around make sure your willing to start over for less then what you're turning down here before voting no.

I've said it before I'll say it again the answer will be different for everybody and every region make your answer what's right for you and above all vote.
 
Thanks y_r_c guy. Also I want to know was if anybody knew any of the so-called agreed upon new contract.

There are other trucking companies, you know that right? Some have good benefits most don't. Some are less stressful than others and most aren't. No one job is like any other job. It's called give and take, and as far as I see you apparently just like to GIVE. Keep on voting yes for everything and you might as well just be working somewhere else.

Do any of those other trucking companies give you a better total compensation package(that's pay + benefits + vacation + sick & personal + work rules in case you didn;t know) then you have now?
Somehow you seem to think it's ok to trade off for less if you get to close YRC down but not to stay working here?
