Yellow | BREAKING news ! Western Pension Fund !!!

YRC employee's had a vote and they could at anytime checked the NO box. Too late now about talking about a picket line. This is your retirement and you can invest in a 401k or hope the goverment takes care of you. Good luck to all

If YRC drops out of any of the Teamsters pension plans wouldn't that trigger an unfunded liability payment?

II also didn't know the company had any say in whether or not you could join. they aren't contributing any money. what do they care?
The only reason that your company would care, is that they have to do the accounting end of it. Such as setting up the payroll systems to subtract the percentage out of your pay that you directed them to subtract. It wouldn't be much extra for them to do, but that is one of the reasons that they wouldn't be interested in offering it to you.:1036316054:

I vehemently beg to differ.....
You cannot be serious.

Agreed Elwood, I've been in the 401K for about 8yrs. It's a good plan and the Teamsters have no control over your money at all. It's managed by Prudential, which is a vast improvement over Mass Mutual who managed it before. It is your money. I'm retired, have withdrawn from the Teamsters and still have the account. I retired from Central Pa. and was able to roll over the lump sum payment from Central Pa. into the 401K with no taxes. I know everybodies on the defensive here since the pounding we have taken but don't make the mistake of thinking the 401K is under Teamsters control. They merely make it available.

What? Are they going to setup individual 401 for everyone?.. They(YRC) can stay away from my personal teamsters 401K I have now ... Thank You...

New York is not in the western funds(Psst you're in the east, California and out that way are western funds) :)

The 401k comes into play because the western fund will not accept the 25% payment, the international directed the company to pay it into the 401k plan.

Really thanks for that...This is the beginning salvo.. Haven't you been watching how these things unroll. This will be the way it is for all soon..

As long as the pension plan your under accepts the 25%, then it will not go into a 401k, you do have the option of starting one through the union however.

At least the board of the Western States Fund has enough Balls to make the right decisions to keep it healthy !
Still wondering why IBT has not informed the membership yet ?

that 401 k goes right in jimmy's pocket not your acct.

You might be on to something! He's been watching late night tv and everyone will be getting a phone call to put Grandpa's old gold teeth fillings and your discarded gold jewery in an envelope and turn it into a 401!!! :LMAO: Send it to the Taj MaHoffa in Vegas!
We'll mail you a receipt!

Thanks, Jimmy.

Did Drive give you a hat when you joined? I use to wonder how much that Drive hat cost me for the dollar a week I use to give them.

So what about what we we voted on?? Was it all false????? I will be calling a lawyer and asking about breach of contract tomorrow.

Employment Contracts

Employment agreements and contracts take many forms. Confidentiality agreements such as these are common.

* Noncompete Agreement
* Severance Agreement
* Nondisclosure Agreement

What isn't a contract is an employer handbook an employee signs to say she has read it and understand its contents; most employees are at-will. Some employees who belong to unions are covered under Collective Bargaining Agreements but aren’t contracts with the company. Being an independent contractor or consultant requires additional understanding of what determines an employee. This is often based on the types of breaks and if you're paid for time off.

There are ways to break contracts, but it's best to negotiate terms up front to make sure both parties get the most out of the relationship. Breach of contract is when you’ve done something that goes against the contract and could have serious results such as a lawsuit.
