Have you seen the videos on the weather channel of ATL, or the news pics from there? There was atleast one person from the ACO stuck on 285 at 10am from 6pm last night. Last I saw at noon you still couldn't go around 285. It would mean I would do my dock work, and hopefully have enough time to make it to the terminal and lay down, assuming there were rooms available. We do not have chains, or the DOT have the equipment to prep the roads or move the snow properly down here. All that being said, I get it. A couple years ago they sent us going to ATL into a no win situation
It took 2 of our guys 14+ hours just to turn ATL which was 330 miles. I worked the dock prior, and would have had to reset my 70 if I kept going. I turned around, as did 2 others. Sometimes you have to make the call. If they require u to run, u have to make an attempt. After that it is your call its too bad and turn back, or get a room.
