Out here in the west when it snows all we hear is you gotta go.Where's all the bravado now?Saddle up boys.

Have you seen the videos on the weather channel of ATL, or the news pics from there? There was atleast one person from the ACO stuck on 285 at 10am from 6pm last night. Last I saw at noon you still couldn't go around 285. It would mean I would do my dock work, and hopefully have enough time to make it to the terminal and lay down, assuming there were rooms available. We do not have chains, or the DOT have the equipment to prep the roads or move the snow properly down here. All that being said, I get it. A couple years ago they sent us going to ATL into a no win situation
It took 2 of our guys 14+ hours just to turn ATL which was 330 miles. I worked the dock prior, and would have had to reset my 70 if I kept going. I turned around, as did 2 others. Sometimes you have to make the call. If they require u to run, u have to make an attempt. After that it is your call its too bad and turn back, or get a room.

Yes, I've seen the pictures. You guys never see the pictures of the weather out here because it is expected and is the way it is. Last Tues here in the west, It was that bad all over but, we ARE expected to go, no matter what. The roads weren't cleared, the roads were icy as heck and yet we have to go. It took me 1 1/2 hrs to drive to work when it usually takes 20 minutes. We have some openings here, why don't you come on out and experience the fun. You could learn to put on chains with the temps in the teens and lower as the snow is blowing down your back. When you get back in the truck, then you can drive down the road that you can't see. But, that is the way it is here in the west.

I was not trying to start anything, nor downplay the conditions out there. Thats why I live here. Ive seen some of the pics other employees have posted. Makes me glad we do not deal with that much here. I was simply giving perspective as to why the SE was shut down. All of yall out that way, be safe!
