Thanks to the YES votes you still have a job and thanks to the Union you have a Grievance procedure.I just read somewhere on here that Chicago was jammed with freight and way behind. So what are they suppose to do?Just letting the freight sit and pissing more customers off is not the answer.Thats why there is only 2 Teamster trucking companies left.

Another 6-10 inches of snow forecast for Chicago from now until Saturday night. They are so far behind why wouldn't you run around them if at all possible? Especially since it is end of the month and super bowl calloffs.

Last I heard 309 was over 400 loads backed up. 211 was around 200 and the southeast is finally moving after the "YANKEE" snowstorm from hell!! LOL!!!
So guess what? The Company is gonna bypass/Go around/Build directs, Anything they can do to move the freight until the systems gets back to normal.
Hell Allentown sent 5 P&D men to Lansdale Thursday because they were backed up on both Inbound & Outbound.
It's called "Do what you gotta do" to move the frekin freight! As long as the Contract is not violiated and no one who is availible sits at home who da hell cares?

It's called fear - They don't see that if they work hard and get it done - more work will come... they see that if they work slow and keep the work away from someone else they will have it to do.

Had a co-worker years and years and years ago who use to look at her in-box in the morning and consciously decide how much time to spend on each task.. thus giving her work thru the whole day...
I used to come in and see how fast I could get it all done 100% correctly and ask if I could go home for the day....
My ding-bat co-worker spent all her time watching people pass up her full in-box for my empty one... See - people want the work done and if they are just 'adding' to your already full day, their work might not get done.. however, if you can drop it in an empty in-box.. you know your next in line... it's like looking for a check-out lane.. do you jump in the longest one or the shortest one?

(you will have to exchange 'in-box' for 'dock' etc... but I think most can understand my point....)

Common sense folks.... :)

I always waited for the boss to cross the line or open the door. Then we could have a honest conversation.

This is the slowest time of the year. What's their plan for when things pick back up again? I see a lot of pissed off YRC customers in the near future.

we are loading to akron, harrisburg heavily. no 309, many other directs like denver, loading around indy, trapping atlanta. all due to backups and weather.

I agree. It's gonna be interesting to watch this summer. Maybe they will realise they shot themselves in the frekin foot again with the new hire rates for dock workers. Why in the hell would you want to work on a cold, Windswept Ice covered dock for a Freight Company when you could go to an in closed (Maybe even heated) wearhouse for the same money? As for CDL drivers? Hell nobody can get anyone with a clean licence anymore. It's either drugs, Bad driving record, Or right out of the J.B. Hunt truck driving acadamy because nobody wants to drive a truck anymore.

It's kinda simple isn't it? How many high school seniors say "when I graduate i'm going to bum around for 3 years, then i'm going to go to truck driving school where i will have to drive for 2 to 3 years to get enough experience to go LTL. Then because I don't have "local" experience very few companies will hire so I end up at some small dirt bag mom and pop for a year or two until i have enough experience to get on with a good company." Then there is the great stereo type and images that our industry puts out there. Truck driver image: 40 to 100 pounds over weight, nasty dirty stained grey sweat pants ( i don't get it but they are always wearing those light grey sweat pants), t-shirt that is normally torn and 1 size to small, flip flops (with the really grungy yellow Frito Lay Scoops toe nails), the ever present Blue Parrot Taco Bell Drive thru helmet and the new "trucker" fashion item the Ice Road Trucker Reflective Vest. We all sleep with hookers. Do drugs. Run bus loads of midget clown nuns off the road on their way to church camp.
Our industry does not have the best image. It is and has been our fault. It really has nothing to do with "the new breed of driver" or truck driving schools. People have changed, society has changed, trucking is pretty much the same. The public never see's on the news honest clean cut professional drivers or hear of the good or great things we do. (its kinda like a tornado, lets go find Bubba in his wife beater and Lulu in her moo moo to describe the sound then run it on a continuous loop on CNN). I tried to put this out there in a humorous way so don't get butt hurt.

Do not know about 211 or anywhere else, but moving 2-3 bills per hour @ 309 may contribute to the backup also.

So you didn't vote in a concessionary contract over at PROFITABLE ABF?
You have one of those that averages out the rate including dock workers and mechanics with all the part time help at UPSF?
Or just the that one used to inflame the subject?

Difference between you and I...I don't claim to work for Yrc...You want people to believe you do...For the record I don't care who you work for, or if you work at all...Not my problem!!! My post are accurate... You and your band of fools on here crucify s anybody that disagree with you...That's your problem...Not mine...
Damit Trip! Now I'm a fool and I said nothing. :hysterical: I just know the Old Papajohn is still in there, miss ya. :wavey:

It was leaked by abf, there spokesperson said they had to report it because of SEC REGULATIONS, the timing of the news release was timed to create the most havoc on the abf voting

You are correct... But this never should have happened at contract time but it did!!!

When someone's posts are rebutted with facts you call that being "crucified". Typical response from you. You claim not to care about my YRC status yet you can't help yourself from bringing it up again. You're your own worst enemy. Don't you see that?

Do you deny the fact?
