So being a road driver, all you get is mileage and drop/hook pay? Dont Estes pay linehaul any kind of delay, break down, or a long layover pay? How much does family insurance cost? Do you have to stay in their wonderful bunk houses or can you go to a motel? Thank ye

Estes doesn't pay for delays while waiting on loads at terminal's they do pay you for break down I think after 2 hrs but don't quote me on that the insurance is pretty good it has went up a little this year but your cost depends on your options and the basics coverages for me and the family my cost is around 100.00 but that includes life dental std ltd and vision plus medical the bunk rooms in some places are better than others but you will learn the ones you can live with and the ones you just say no but you can always pay for a room if you want to it all depends where you are at but the options are there hope this helps you and good luck.

I got call from terminal manager in Greenville saying extra board position full but team position open. I wonder if it is worth taking til xboard spot comes open? I have willing partner to run with me

Yea man thanks. They had a sign on the door in Columbus,Oh, taking apps. for xtra board, so I applied. If they dont pay delay 4 waiting on loads, I wonder if you may not have to wait very long? I dont mind waiting up to an hour. But after that I start getting a little ticked..

Well right now they will get busy and you should not have to much wait time, but if it slows down I have been at a Hotel for 24 hours, and a Bunk house at a terminal for about the same before, and if your wife is able to get insurance through her work Estes will not carry a spouse that is able to get insurance.
Oh and there were times that we drive all the way to the terminal and sit and wait till central makes up there mind what to do with you and only to find out your going home no work tonight...and you get nothin for coming in for nothing..

delay pay? haha! your time is worth nothing to these people.bunk house or motel ! haha! one is usually no better than the other. if they put you in a motel you will pass up about 5 motels where other freight lines stay at , to get to a run down crack or ***** motel. I think they pay by the hour!now on the other hand if you follow mildew around you will never have any delay time and only 600 mile runs and if you do stay out it will be at a hotel not a motel! haha!

Team Driving is a great way to make money and get your foot in the door at Estes. You might get stuck as a team. They don't seem to like to break up teams. So make sure you're willing to commit some time to it. I would say go for it.

Thx I have no problem running team I do it now over at Cooper. Let's say my Co driver wants to transfer out to another terminal and I don't how does that work then?

If they don't have room on the extra board you will have to find a new co driver. Or they can hire a complete stranger to run with you. You need to be with the company for a year before you can transfer. The way things are going I think more extra board positions should open up. I can't predict the future.

It's more like 650 miles when I run a laydown on the weekend and yep 0 wait time. No need to wait around on an empty coming out of the "Sunshine." Y'all don't need to worry about delay pay. Y'all are paid way too much as it is. Y'all non educated, greedy, dieselfried freight relocators.

Memphis extra board

Looking to go to Estes. What is the starting rate? How many miles are y'all getting ? Do y'all run west coast? How long to top out pay?

I think starting rate is 49.15 and top out is 57.15 in 3 years . Or something like that . 1.25 raise every 6 months till u hit top rate.

Gotta take 10yr MVR up to TM in Greenville. I have 5 violations in 10yrs all before 2009 would that be too much for safety to deny me for employment?

I would say if they aren't major violations then I wouldn't think so I'm sure if cooper doesn't have a problem than probably not at big e either but best of luck to you this place isn't perfect but for most things you could do worst.

Doubt they are a big deal even if some are major other than reckless, DUI hit and run uncontrolled substance or got caught doing something showing you had some fun once in the last 10 years.
