Yellow | boner checks

Make sure you ship YRC............will either end up with a few pennies "missing" or collecting pigeon turds in some eol OS&D bay.
It's too bad they also took away the company ship for $50 for employees. I'd send it Time Critical and then have someone accidentally spear the package and then have pennies rolling around the dock. Not only would you get free ship because of failure you could claim damages too. Plus it would be fun watching dock stupervisors chasing pennies.

And don't forget to check to box for freight charges are collect.

Where's Triplex? Could it be he's laying low because he was COMPLETELY wrong about the taxation rate on these bonus checks? 25% federal income tax is NOT the normal rate. What else were you wrong about????

Gateway, do you understand the difference between withholding rate vs. taxation rate? Doesn't look like you do. Educate yourself before you make ignorant statements.

Took the wife and daughter out for dinner and some drinks afterward, Half the boner check shot. if we got a raise instead of bonus I would be able to do that every year as long as I worked for YRC instead of just once, hence the name boner check. gotta admit, got pretty hammered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK boys and girls, it's time to weigh in. The NET amount of your "bone-us" is going to vary dependent on lots of things: what state you're in and the level of state tax witholding, any other taxation (some folks have city income tax witholding), and a small group of other lesser factors. Also, if the "bonus" witholding tax seems high (and perhaps it is), that will all "come out in the wash" at year's end.

My husband just read the letter from Welch and is ranting and raving, Kanye West style, that he didn't vote "yes" and he wants to send the check back to them with a note that Welch should consider that his bonus for the year. He's serious. He says the check is about as useful as a couple of new pennies.

Send them back $750 in pennies!....KK

Send it to this old retiree (even in pennies}. I want to put some "shiny wheels" on my Hover-round !:smilie93C_peelout:

lets wonder together .if you had gotten that 37c raise and not the bonus what is the new rate of give back.
it was a 15% give back is it 17% now more or less ?
37c x40 x52 =769.00 a year x 10 years $7696.00 .
got to be another couple %

Looks like the Republicans in Texas have smaller hands than the Democrats in California.

AMEN!!! But remember.. the Democrats are looking out for US... they take our money and take care of US... Texas Republicans just give you your money and hope your smart enough to take care of yourself... it's all in perspective my friend....

(Maybe we could get an IQ test to determine our 'tax rate'... if you smart you can keep your own money?)

** Small rant - I'm better now **

You seem to think you know everything so why don't you explain to me what the difference is between withholding rate and taxation rate? Is withholding rate not a tax? And is it not based upon a rate? You should go back and read all your posts about how the bonus checks were not going to be taxed at a higher rate! And you were wrong! Can't you admit that you are not as smart as you seem to think you are?

You're absolutely correct Gateway, I'm not smart at all. If I were smart, I wouldn't waste time with people who are too lazy to learn.

The IRS has this thing called the 1040(some may know it as the 1040A or 1040ez) at the end of the year you or your designate(someone you select to do it for you) fill out all the blocks based on your total income(wages, tips, interest and other compensation all added together) minus your write offs(dependents, interest paid on a mortgage of your primary residence(and a lot of other things if added together are more the x dollars) then and only then is your actual tax rate known. The withholding rate is a guesstimate so you don't have to write the IRS a big check for money you already spent, if you over pay(as in the withholding rate was too high) they have this thing called a refund where they send you a check after you file the 1040 tax form............................

point is when people said about what check would be we were told we were crazy .checks were just about right on what we said they would be .

You do realize that when you get money back from the IRS the bonus will equal more then the amount on the check right?
