Were told no bonus checks for any laid off employees here in STL. Doesn't matter if you work in the last 90 days or not. We were told that we are not seasonal laid off employees but are on a hard lay off, even though they still call for work when they need workers. Go figure. I can say this was expected as these a holes aren't going to pay anything they think they can get away with. By the way I voted no both times before the bashing starts.

If I remember correctly it said anyone who had been laid off at anytime in the last year would not get the bonus.

same crap for guys on w-comp all i know is when the contract said within 90days it was before or after but i guess the co said no union said yes master the ba at our local said w-comp guys would get it for sure so l called and asked wheres my f- bonus he said sweetton said no what a bunch of BS.

File. You've got nothing now. The worst is your claim is denied. The best is you get the $750. IMO you're eligible.

I was told the same thing by my BA, not entitled to the bonus check for being off over 90 days on comp. However I was called by the company and told I was allowed to vote before we voted. so it is more or less if you want you cant vote yourself a bonus check but you are not entitled to it. just a bunch of BS

Look over the MOU carefully. If you meet ALL of the criteria for receiving the "bone-us", then file a grievance. The worst thing that can happen is a denial of your grievance.

I posted the MOU on the union board thursday and I got a brother who was denied his cause they said he would have to wait 120 days to get his. Brother was on seniority list, was not laid off but was outfor a few weeks in Jan for medical treatment. He voted, worked weeks from Nov thru Feb so no the company is dictating who and who will not receive this gift tax bonus. The MOU stated it clearly from the IBT that he would receive his bonus.

Monday will start the grievance machinery process for this issue and many more.

For anyone to get their bone us you would have to be active at least 1 day (90 days before 12/31/13) and still be on the payroll when the payment was made !! active has to be working...not on layoff ,workers comp , or disability, etc etc...so if you where active and got laid off or out for whatever reason after 12/31/13 but is still on payroll .senority list you are entiled to the bones us !!

At ACY 165 they gave a check to a guy not even on the list and moved on to greener pastures! A guy on the list was missed and a guy laid off from Oct was paid! Seems like petty politics or a severe lack of minding the store?

I'm sure KCGO is only payed what was submitted.
I do have a question about the St. Louis situation. Are you laid off because of the last COO?

After the last COO we became an EOL and about 80 dockmen were laid off. The COO committee said we should have 39 dock positions the company has yet to have over 35 including percenters. We have had a handful of laid off that worked 5 days a week pretty much through the end of the year even though they have been officially on laid off status.

Yes, I was laid off as part of COO last year but still continued to work. Had worked days in the 2 weeks before Thanksgiving and got payed for the holidays, so I worked within 90 days of agreement and from the way I read it, should be eligible for bonus. Filed grievance, so we'll see what happens, although as stated previously I'm sure they will find a way to get out of it.

That is a link to the current MOU. Carefully read section 2. Your response concedes that yours is not a seasonal lay off. Your eligibility will depend upon convincing a committee that you should NOT have been laid off. If your insurance has continued uninterrupted I think you have good case. Talk to your local and if you can't win locally, deadlock it to the COO committee. Obviously if you're working regularly the number of dock men, remaining in St. Louis, was not sufficient to handle the volume of freight.
