What about the "preferential hiring lists" that Freight Locals 24, 92, 377, and 407 in Northeast Ohio are supposed to have to give to Holland with names of hundreds of laid-off YRC drivers and dock/yard people! These people are supposed to get "preference" when it comes to hiring? Where's the IBT Freight Division on this? Why is Holland hiring off the street while we still got hundred laid off at YRC? Come on!

It is written with invisible ink, just like the rest of the "MOU".

Youz guys just don't get it!!! Its not about the money, or benefits! Its about driving the BIG rigs, going places where you've never been(and most don't want to), meeting the best in the industry(ABF, they make full pay and benefits, pension), feeling the power underneath you(we won't even go there), you're in control of your destiny(good effing luck), drive the best equipment that yrc has to offer to holland after they get done beating it to a pulp, 48' trailers that are the envy of the recycling trade! Do it all from behind the wheel of a pig pen on wheels!!! And what other company will give you plenty of home time,,,, sitting by the phone, all sanctioned by the international brotherhood of scamsters! On top of all that, management thats 2nd to Zero! When you get done seeing what yrcw has to offer you'll be paying them! COME ONNNNN DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:biglaugh:

So when you make the list at Holland you'll be making less than $17hr,that's just wrong.
I guess if you were with a YRC comapny and got on at Holland,my understanding is you'll be at 90% the first year.Full pay after a year.No wonder they don't want to hire anybody on layoff.Creeps

I just have to wonder why these layed off workers do not get there ass off the couch and go and apply and contact the local about the preferential hiring instead of waiting for some one to call them.

I was laid off last year and I contacted Holland on my own about working there. The best they could do for me at the time was a casual position with no guarantee of work. So I wound up working for a truckload carrier for about six months.
