So I volunteered to head to the Newburgh NY terminal to play in their sanbox for a week. It should be fun I used to work their area for about 15 years P&D with a different company.

I saw that help offer posted in Syracuse a while back. Take your tractor and a trailer down for the week. All meals and lodging covered. So how was it JMS?

I'm still here, they are overloaded with work. Staying in the hotel sucked. So this week I am traveling back and forth in my vehicle. My truck and trailer are still in Newburgh. It's just under an hour for me to get there. The T.M. is a good guy, he speaks to his people like they are human. He understands that there is more work than he can cover. I actually enjoy working for him. Which sounds insane I know. It's different I almost want to do more than my job. Difficulties are: small terminal, late line haul arrivals, subcontracted mechanics. These combined with more freight than drivers makes it crazy. They are really trying though. The salesman is new and just starting to knock on doors. This terminal has the potential to explode with outbound freight. That being said they NEED help.

what is wrong with the hotel. estes drivers only stay at the best!!!! I bet the " t m , a good guy would not stay there" !!!

Never heard of Newburgh. What's the women look like up there?

It was the Middletown terminal and as for the women there are 2 kinds; one will do anything for a $20 and is always scratching, and the other is honking the horn of her Mercedes because the truck is blocking the spa entrance.

Cool, I'll remember to have $20 and some flea medicine if I ever make it up there.

So I've been "invited" back for week #3. This past week beat the snot outta me. Good hours, lot's of freight. Just tired. Thank God for a weekend off. I here a couple of new drivers starting this week, and a few " on the bubble". Here we go again for another week, it's good I know the areas they operate.
