Yellow | What's up @ 621 STL since Combination Board vote.

Anyone know how the vote went, and what's happening since ? I'm laid off dock since Aug. '13 and looking for news.

Do you have a CDL? I can't believe your off 8 months. Why? We are going nuts everywhere in the N.East. YRC & NPME. ?

No CDL, we're one of the few separate boards left. 2013 COO made us EOL so they laid off nearly 100 dockhands. They forced combo on us and said grieve it if you don't like it. We did and finally voted a couple weeks ago. Have not heard anything.

Get a CDL. Don't leave home without it.

What did you vote on? How was the vote conducted? Who tallied the votes and where?

vote was NO on combo board 131 no 7 yes. They were suppose to have drivers off the dock last Monday or the could give 72 hr strike notice. Last I heard the drivers were still on the dock and they gave the notice and Intl. pussed out and are now saying, you can't do that after they said in pre vote meetings that if it didn't pass they could give strike notice.Just another example of weak ass union that';s in bed with the company.

To explain vote STL is one of 2 or 3 terminals that isn't combination but yet the company decided to put 20 or 25 city drivers on the dock in mornings before they go out. Working them against local agreements even while having dock hands on lay off. Its only taken 5 months before it was finally put to a vote and was resoundingly voted down and yet they still won't abide by that decision. So you ask what is the union doing ? Nothing as usual.

Thanks for breakin' down the details to ABFer's questions Dockrock, and thank you for bringing me up to speed on what's happening at our barn. The management reaction doesn't surprise me nor does the lack of follow through by our so called (IBT) leadership. Your right Dockrock, we're fighting a two-headed monster. The International and YRCW are sharing the same body.
