Hello everyone I am new to trucking and will be graduating from training next week. I live in Michigan and looking for advise as to which companys to apply to. I have heard back from Werner and Maverick and have applied to Falcon and TMC. Any advice is welcomed.

Those are all truckload carriers and all suck equally in different ways. If you must you can use them as stepping stones to a decent job. I hear that ABF is having trouble finding people in MI and you might want to give them a try. Vacation sucks, 2 years you get 1 week then it's 1 week for the next 6 but they do hire trainees if they need drivers and you make it through the rigorous hiring process.

can also try Dayton, I would try local places first, unless you single and want to see the country, you can go road. but you will not make the money.

if u want a pension after 30 years i would go to usf holland or ABF

I am changing career and trucking seemed like a good way to go since truckers and in high demand. What is the way to make good money in this industry?

There are some chemical companies paying pretty good but they are hard to come by. Oil field work pays good but the days are long and there are no weekends off. Outside of that LTL (less than truckload) would be the best and ABF would be the best choice there for city work. OTR (over the road) the others pay almost as well as ABF so you could do OK with some of them.

I was thinking it should be moved over to the driver's lounge but he might not understand if it was just moved over there.
