Okay...I thought that the tractor with the lowest miles went on the longest runs! I have the longest run out of my yard (over 530 miles a night) We got in a new (280,000 mile) Kenworth truck in our yard and they gave it to the number one driver in our yard. My truck had 325,000 miles....well about a month and a half ago another kenworth came in with 240,000 miles on it and it went to the #2 driver on our board. I asked about why are they getting the tractors when their runs are less than mine and my TM looked into it and showed me the email with the response he got saying they were giving them out by seniority. Well with the rebids happening I thought With my truck with more miles then those trucks I would have been given one...Nope...those trucks stayed with those drivers! Since when giving trucks out by seniority happen? If my truck wasn't braking down for three months at a time after driving it for a week once it gets back from the dealership I wouldn't care but I want a truck that is reliable!

Seniority doesn't mean a lot except for tractor bids, vacations and layoffs. You should be happy with the longest run. If #1 or #2 decided to bid on your run you'll be stuck with a shorter run and the same tractor. TP

Cry me a river and get back to me when your tractor has another 650,000 miles on it.
RC is thinking we really should start calling you teardrop version 2.0.

Ok, enough of the BS. Back to topic, is this the way tractors are going to be assigned to us from now on? Inquiring minds want to know

We just finished up our bid and they went back to central configuring tractors to line up with what run gets back at what time on days to line up with the night shuttles and hub turns so that way no one has to use an extra board tractor.

Tell ya what, 2.0.
How about in just over two weeks they move RC's tractor down to your yard for you?
It will be CARB compliant and have the lowest mileage on the odometer of any truck in your yard.
That is, of course, if it doesn't have a seven digit odometer.

Same here. Tractors are assinged to runs. Only city drivers bid tractors.

Don't forget a poll about tractor brands, engines, transmissions, seats, CB Radios, cell phones, satellite radio, types of music to listen to, beer's to drink on the weekend, whiskey versus whisky ad infinitum....if there's any one thing truck drivers actually do well, it's argue about things that don't really matter, or are absolutely beyond their control.

oh ic I cant have an have a say on here without rc telling me to go get #@#$, its just the same self centered guys on here all the time, you fellows have ran a lot of good guys off the board, thanks for making trucking boards a good place, I will no longer be on here either

I just want a reliable tractor...my volvo is in the shop more than on the road! If it actually run it would well be over 450,000...! My truck was a safety award truck and from day one when the award driver had it he had the same problem with it in the shop more than on the road! BTW I know teardrop and there is no way i'm close to being her....I can hook up my own set!

You bring that subject up with any 20 year road guy out west and you'll get the same response.
It has been discussed time and time again. West road drivers operated under rules that are pretty foreign to most city peeps, and most of you don't get it. No big, just expect the same response from me regardless of who brings it up.

Nothing personal, ok?
