Yesterday I quit the best job I ever had.
But its not the same place I went to work for in 1999, and there are very few places that are the same as they were a decade ago. Those who tried to stay the same have gone away.
I wanted to stay but all logic dictated that I make the move.
It wasn't about the pension in the end, it came down to the drive and how employees are treated.
I have a lot of friends at Holland and very much hope that everything works out.
 
DONT LOOK BACK you made the move so no regrets I did the same on 3/1/10 and I dont regret it one bit I only hope for the best for all THE GREAT PEOPLE I left behind I tried to get on there from 1978 but finally full time from 1998 !
 
Good for you BP. You made the right choice. And you are correct.....this is not the same company that I started working for either. This place is only a shadow of what it used to be. The Holland Pride is a thing of the past. We are just another freight company now. Try not to kick up too much dust as you're heading out the door, because many of us (if not all of us) will be right on your heals.
