Averitt | Twins 53's in OKC

OKC has had them for quite some time now. I think it goes to OKC to TUL

That is so cool. I guess I'll be moving to OKC if I want to pull those. I have no interest in driving trucks unless it is some kind of articulated combo. I would pass on pulling vans all the time, except winter, and wait for a set either going to or coming home.

Surely they have the torque and HP turned up. I have heard that in the North East triple pullers are required by law to be set at a mininum horsepower rating to be able to run with traffic.

They are the same trucks line haul and city uses nothing different. I have 1 of the few 10 speeds left and mine pulls like a dream. We no longer do the transfers between okc and Tulsa we do however go from tulsa to Wichita and Tulsa to Ponca city daily with 2 sets

In the north east (Mass &NY) they are no bigger than double 48's. Tractors have special permit numbers in them and they must be able to maintain 55mph. You can only use permitted tractors. They use both single and tandem dollies depending on the weight you pull( max weight for the whole unit is 148,000#). Drivers also have to have a special permit, just a double endorsement on your lic doesn't work. If you want see some fun, they pull double smooth bore milk tankers !! They take quite a while to stop.
