so what you pro guys are really saying is that you are going to go through with this and anyone that's non is just screwed. i for one am just fine with what i make and how i make it. i know many more that feel the same way. instead of trying to change the company why don't you just go somewhere else and leave the rest of us alone. you talk about fair this and fair that. looks like you're doing just the opposite of that. seems a little hypocritical.

like what u make now?..... don't worry it will be lower within six months either less work hours or benefits...... possibly pay rate also! send the union south!

:baby::baby:Can only go union if most vote yes and if most want it then u can leave :crybaby:

love what i make now. got a house, land, boat, two cars, truck, beer in the fridge and a knowing that if my family needs anything, i can provide. why be greedy? if it does pass, then i guess i will find another job. like i said before, why force others into something they don't want and then argue about fair this and fair that.

:tumbleweed:Find another job where u get ot after 60hrs...smart

Wonder how it is acceptable to allow a company to treat drivers as expendable resources. Guys We need uniform rules for accidents. We now have opinionated views on severity with no recourse for protection. I don't think anyone has problems with pay. I do believe We all have problems with loss of benefits, etc. I just want to know I am treated as EVERY other drives nationwide which I am not. This company nudged us several years ago with the insurance surcharge and when we kept quiet, low and behold everything is gone but your check and crappy Insurance
I guess paid holidays are next on the chopping block. Union says we at least have some say in the way we are compensated and treated by said corporation.

send it south we will vote yes!!!!
amen to that......send them south........in the south, i have worked 12hr days for the last 5 days for instance...all at regular pay. In the south they dont care what time you get off because of the o.t. Rate. Give me 8 a day and send my happy ass home and i would be one more happy camper. But if we have to work those hours, at least we should be compensated, here, we dont have a choice, you come in when you are suppose to and you go home when your told to...................

smokinjoe, can you elaberate? I have been on a dozen accident appeals now, and the rules are pretty uniform across the board. Not sure what you mean by that. I don't agree with working over your 40 at regular time either... doesn't happen in canada.

either you're not good at math or you don't work for con-way. 5 12 hr days is 60 hrs and last i checked, we get ot after 50. if your 60 hr week is at regular pay, and you work for con-way, then you need to call someone and find out how to get backpay.

If you will re-read my post, i said in the last 5 days(wed, thur and fri of last week and mon and today of this week), with the holiday last monday you would have had to work 50 hrs tues-fri to get o.t., mon. Did not count toward it. Sorry, i didn't mean to confuse anyone...........

Wow in north east we get ot after 8hrs everyday...and this job still sucks

The whole struggle in American capitalism is to bring together the profit motive with morality and ethics, that is the on going battle. Ergo, yes you can have people work for you. NO you can not own them. A dead presidents face on a green piece of paper does not make you wealthy. Your health and sanity make you wealthy. You will never see a Brinks truck following a hearse, you wont. The Egyptians tried, we can give them an "A" for effort. But they did try.
If you think Conway is diligently focused on the struggle mentioned above then you do not need a union....and are either a fool or a greedy fool who does not care that you or your co-workers quality of life is equal to what drops out of a dogs rear end after a good meal of Kibble and Bitts. I realise that for a few of you that sacrificing yourself on the Conway alter for a few more dollars and a little better lifestyle is rewarding enough and all you could realistically hope for. That is great, but you should realise that for a lot of other folks it is not. That does not make them lazy. It makes them enlightened.
At one time in this country the union was a very necessary response to horrendous labor practices and brought about some positive changes. If you think they did not you should educate your self to the facts. Yes the union got underhanded and dirty for awhile. Those kind of whole sale problems have been gone for some time now. Do you think corporate America or Conway is above being a little underhanded and dirty? You know, do what they want and spin it to you as being in your best interest. The union is not perfect. At least they are in the business of representing your interests. Is Conway? In a perfect world you would not need unions but it is not perfect. What better choice do you have?:sadwavey:

So on the dozen accident appeals you have been on, was it ruled preventable or non??? Just curious.

The things I have seen are amazing. 20 year men fired fir very minor issues. One Guy fired for 1 yard accident and several others not. 1 Guy fired for having a tire knocker in his parked truck cause he was using it as a cruise control. Guilt by association and fired. Ruts in grass to does not equilateral preventable accident. Does here. Thus Guy pulls down power line gets a pa, the next Guy doesn't. Again, We all need to be treated the same. God bless and be safe..

The Southern Region of Con-f-Freight will never go Union they are Skeered to stand up and fight for there rights
