I think this cartoon is fitting. Just thinking about those 70 hrs make me cringe, but I thought the comic was funny.

Worst thing is, they're being outrageous. People think those kinds of hours are so ridiculous, its not believable except in a comic strip.

30 year city P&D at an end of the line terminal. They can't get the freight here before 10:30 on a good day. They hold off start times until loaded and bring in flex guys early to work the city. Part time dock workers are taking all opportunities to get any time in. Most city drivers are working less than 40 except the flex guys.

Damn that has to be a crappy situation with all the strap you have. And I'm sure your EOL has no good line runs. But after 30 years I bet you don't want to go to nights either...

We do have some good runs which I have done in the past, but day sleeping doesn't work for me, can't stay awake at night so here I am wishing I still had what was promised long ago. I would be retiring this year with $4000. per month and health insurance, now (which I just got the numbers for), will be after paying for my insurance I will net $95. too young for SS so here I am stuck in a nowhere job and going backwards.

I have always been told they owe us 40 hours.

Everything you just said is why this company has seen so many drivers leave.

Not the new drivers. The long in the tooth guys that have been getting it done forever.
