YRC Worldwide Reports 2014 Second Quarter Results (NASDAQ:YRCW)

"However, profitability for the second quarter was negatively impacted by the network not being fully in cycle which resulted in a decrease in productivities, the re-handling of freight and less than optimal use of purchased transportation. The year-over-year decline in profitability can also be attributed to a $7.5 million increase in expense related to bodily injury claims as well as a $2.9 million increase in cargo claims expense when compared to the second quarter of 2013. The increase in our bodily injury claims expense was driven by an increase in outstanding claims and an increase in development of prior year claims that remain unsettled.

Purchased Transportation cost more than expected, really.Lets see PTS goes out with 10 deliveries on a lift gate. Makes 2 brings back 8 with one pick up.Guess you be a little more careful of what you give them. No equipment issues either

Injuries claims really???? really? gotta find an excuse for something. With so many letters being sent out you'd think that was gonna solve the problem why we didn't make a profit. Lived in my house for twenty years and never knew the mailman name until the last couple of years. Got so many certified warning letters sent to my house lately the mailman knows me by my first name as well as I know his. Tells me I got another one for ya Lou and I tell him "the next one you get from YRC drop it in the sewer, can't even drink my Saturday morning coffee without this YRC BS( warning letter & a posted loss for the quarter) thanks for making my day":coffee1:

YRC is committed to installing 38 parcel dimensioners in YRC Freight's distribution centers by the end of 2014. Parcel dimensioners, which are used to sort packages by size and volume, are an important part of YRC's plans because they can more completely fill trailers :couch: once these are installed the revenue will just explode

bunch of old sob. what wrong with you all getting hurt and keeping yrc from that big profit

He said the company will spend three times more on technology in 2014 than it did in 2013 and will continue to use operating leases to acquire revenue equipment — tractors and trailers — that will be delivered in the second half of 2014."
