Centers are getting new KW's again as city units, but I heard that because of the problems we are having with the new 680's , we are buying Freightliner Cascadia's now?!? Then I also heard from centers coming into HGR that FedEx Frt is back to buying Volvo. The 2 main road units now being purchased will be Freightliner Cascadia, and Volvo now. If that's the case, why did they buy these new city units from KW???

I'm a Reddaway driver and you can borrow our 1997 Freightliner cabby's any day. We got like 4-5 of them. They are still active and run linehaul. Don't think they plan on getting rid of them either cause their cheap to fix. Think it's like $2.00 to rebuild the motors. They just warn off new applicants that want to apply when we drive them down the interstate.

The years go by but the story stays the same, there is x number of dollars to go around you can either put some dollars in your pocket or ride around in the money and polish it.
Cheap to fix usually means fast to repair and more up time, that's a good thing around here any more.

That's true! Whenever one of those cabby's roll it's all profit. You can drive a Supertruck at Western( the big nice blue stretch KW & Pete's) but they start .31 cpm and top at maybe .40cpm. I rather run a cabby then make that.
