we need policy set in stone, no grey areas, negotiate is a good word, majority rules, lets not forget we need one man board negotiation in these talks to many don't agree, but I say let the majority rule then I will shut up about it, your turn rc

A one man board only serves to benefit those that either.
A. Want to hang in the city, till they can bid straight to a day run, without putting any "dues" in.
B. Road drivers that realize they effed up, and want back on days.
C. High seniority guys that bid back and forth from road to city, depending on what the weather is like.

It only perpetuates crawfishing.

Pick a job title, and stick with it. Not to mention, our top 25 guys wouldnt last a day in the city.
No, thats not an insult, its fact. Most 67+yr old bodies cant stand dragging 2500lb skids to the back of a 53', for 9hrs a day, in 100deg heat.

Speak for yourself, Sparky.
Pretty much half of us are opposed to a single board.

Whats wrong?
Get bumped a few too many times on the road, and wish you had your city seniority back?

That is one reason why city drivers should bid routes too. Not sometimes, as it is now, but all the time. Different routes have differing degrees of difficulty.

What you are calling " One Man Board " is referred to as " Straight Line Seniority "....I know some dock workers, mechanics, and maintenance guys that would love that so they could bump A LOT of drivers. Always be careful what you wish for, you may get it.

No doubt.

We have a few routes that my grandmother could handle.

Flipside, some routes are only suited to a hungry, and in shape 24yr old.

how could anybody with any grain of heart think cause they finally got tired of the city should be able to go ahead of a road driver who has been a road driver here the whole time they been employed.them guys gave up their family lives to run the road, missed their kids growing up and anything else a city driver got to do. I was I city driver but didn't want the road cause I want to watch my kids grow up when they got older I went to the road. theres no way in h--- I think that I should be able to go ahead of them guys.i'm happy with my choses and so should everybody else. 1 board senority is a bunch of crap and i'm glad most people see that

And it's uphill to the tail and uphill to the nose, right?

I do agree with the rest of your reasons.

Oh, why are the 67 year olds still working?
