XPO | Union Buster Information, for Management And Employees

Fed Ex is taking a monumentally larger "cut" than the union does. I pay $54./ month in union dues and have a benefits pkg. that I pay nothing for that I guarantee smokes what you have. Nothing about a union creates layoffs - economic conditions dictate that and were all subject to those . I work 55 hrs. / week every week with OT after 8/40. And my piddly pension at 25% of what it used to be still beats a 3% match on 401k. Not trying to start a dick measuring contest , but I can't sit back and listen to uneducated rhetoric that may keep men from working with representation/ dignity. I've done non - union and union LTL and I can tell you honestly, there is no comparison. Union sux less than non - union !
 
My bad - I forgot I was on Conway forum. Thought I was on FedEx. Same story though, just different colored trucks.

is that legal to intimidate employees?

If it was intimidation. If it was him sitting there talking to the guys and they were all like what do you think ? And he told them his opinion. Probably not.

You can't goad a member of management into a termination or a violation.

If it was someone of rank and power to be able to intimidate it would have been wrong to even share an opinion.

We all know an FOS or FOM can't fire you. It comes from HR. They can only send you home until you can have a meeting with someone able to make the decision.
 
What is a union buster in Conway and FedEx Corporation? Well they are low scums of the earth who use management as a tool for their benefit and for the CEO’s benefit too.
Conway and FedEx hires this high paid lawyers or union avoidance consultant, they are granted full power to run the company and they are management’s bosses also, now that, is a 3rd party in anyone’s eye.
They use terminal managers, operation managers, supervisors to do their dirty work; they tell management if the Teamsters win the election, they are in the line of losing their job! That is a lie, not only are employees threaten for organizing in a Teamster union drive, but also managers, if there are any managers in this position, contact the (National Labor Relations Board) and find out if this is legal?
Now if a manager is terminated because of employees organizing for Teamster power, will the union buster help the manager get their job back? No!
Now if the employee participates in a union drive and is terminated, will the Teamsters fight for the employee’s rights? Yes!
Don’t let a union buster take your rights as managers or as an employee!!
We as an employee are only fighting for our rights, for a better pension and retired medical benefits, a better wage raise equal to the economy cost of living of 7% not 3%
and when it comes to changing employee pension status or bonuses, let us have a say so first! Not just the CEOs ways!
And let us create a Teamster contract, for equal rights and fairness, by putting our concerns in writing. It will make us a better company over all, between management and employees.

The most notable quote from the senior management of Overnite was that they lost their focus on what they were in business to do... deliver freight. Organizational efforts are distractions from day to day operations and our company is well aware of the laws regarding organizing.

The thing is that if it wasn't for the union companies that are left and the ones that are no longer here you would not be receiving the pay and benifits that you receive today.And with employes with the mindset like yours the country will fail.
 
I'm protecting my job. Nobody cares about your personal problems. And as I said, you can't compare upsf to conway. You know that. Big difference in the companies. Your owned by a 50$ billion package conglomerate; con-way doesn't have that. Idk how somebody can be so stupid. Oh, and I make good money too. BTW, nobody is gonna show you the door for bumping a car..if you worked here, you'd know that.

Well the former ceo of Conway was a idiot thinking he could give 90 percent discounts and run YRCW out of business and look where that got him!!!!!!

I will donate my 2 cents on why these drivers are leaving in groves ... This place is ran by non-experienced rookies , they belittle, discourage, disrespect, look down upon you , degrade your character, demand respect, spit in your face (sarc) , no integrity, lie, more lies ,vengeful , cowards , intimidate with the threat of an LOI, loss of retirement ,'401k , insurance, vac, steal lunch breaks, hook time, fuel time, dock time , forced to use to use the 16 hour rule all the time, change rules on a whim, accuse without evidence , fire at will , and did I mention intimidation by the use of Fear tactics? , lack of credibility , and lastly this company is using massive amounts of subservice which eliminates the use for our road drivers ... So there ya have it they are stealing our jobs and our future all for big profits and bonuses for a select few without any remorse or reguards to the employee that built this company ! Vote Yes

The power belongs to the working man. The skilled laborer that fulfills the business needs better than some scrub of the unemployment line.

You should never fall for the line that the union is or has the power. They never will be anything without YOU. That is why they try so hard and promise so much.

They are nothing without you. You will always be the resource of value. And that union wants their cut. And it comes out of your check.[/QUO

There cut? 2 1/2 times your hourly rate once a month= in return you get your pension and your medical dental eyeglass insurance !! More to it than just there cut !!!
 
Your promising stuff you cant deliver..pension..your guaranteeing a pension..that is interesting. The union doesn't work in LTL, you have too much competition..you will only damage a LTL and they lose customers and freight, and there are lay-offs. I just couldn't sit back and watch you lie to everybody. If you sign a card, you become a slave to the union and the company will fail. And please don't compare us to UPSF; they are owned by a 50 billion $ package company. Teamsters and LTL don't work, haven't for a long time. Yrc and ABF struggled..We make more money. Teamsters want your money and don't care if the company fails..it pushes business to their other teamster companies. Be smart..vote no.

How will they become a slave to the union ??? It's more like they are already slaves to Conway! Right? A pension could be negotiated into a contract if thats what the employee's want, if they want a 401k that is also something negotiable.
The thing is the union is there to represent the employee's not to work in the LTL business, not to run Conway. Surely your speaking with forked tongue, how will the union cause the company to lose customers, and lose freight? Isn't that the job of the sales people to keep and get freight into those trailers? And YES the Teamsters and LTL don't work, BUT the Teamsters and Conway employee's just might!

If the union had no power then Conway wouldn't spend hundreds of thousands of dollars trying to avoid their employee's going Teamsters. And how could you say there in no strength in numbers, look at it like this ... you can easily break one pencil with no problem, try breaking 30 at the same time. So do you see the strength in numbers. The Teamsters union will be the conways employee's representatives when they need to be represented and by the looks of it right now they need plenty of representation.
 
And also ask them about the organizers promising people pensions, free insurance, etc. To get them to sign cards.

I have not seen anyone promise those things,.....

Only that those are things that Union jobs often have, And those are things the the Teamsters will help fight for,.....
 
Companies have to change with the times to remain competitive. There are way too many LTL companies. This is not a government job or a sanitation company with a captive audience, this is LTL, it won't work. Nothing really has changed here in the last five years or so. We're getting raises every year, and bonus. Insurance is cheap..your not going to get much more...Conway is here to make profit, if they don't, then they stop growing..that hurts everybody here, including me.
Your right, I shouldn't be getting agitated, i'll just let everything play out. We're hearing a lot of rumors about of LLA; Somebody got fired, I know that(or maybe that is rumor).I guess we'll see.
Talk to me about your vacation time! How many weeks did they steal from you? If you had a contract they couldn't touch that unless you voted on it.
And we get it, Conway is here to make a profit and so are all the unionized companies we represent.
So why did that "somebody get fired ? For union activities ? Are you trying to say that to place fear out there? Typical management.
