how are other terminals handling these guys as far as where they come from or where they are going? here in Atlanta they come and go as they please and don't sign any kind of sheet as far as their loads or trailer destinations. hard to file a grievance when we don't know what to file for. I also don't think they should be taking their 10 hour breaks sleeping in our outbound ready line. just wondering how some of the bigger terminals are handling this.

they are not allowed to be on property off duty! most union locals and company are enforcing this.. As for where they are going/what hauling, etc.. Look at PT sheet supplied by company and supposed to be posted.. Whether you believe is another issue... Sign in and out sheet should be used but is not.. Tyson Johnson is the person to point the finger at!!! IBT sell out and Freight director supposedly.. ABF claims they are only using 3% PT..

File a grievance about them being a safety hazard on property. You handle HAZ-MAT at that facility? Dept. of Homeland Security might want to know about the security of that facility, and why these guys are there in their off-duty hours. YOU'RE not allowed to be there in your off-duty hours, are you? Start collecting Trailer/tractor names and numbers,.....all you need to do is find a few that are non-documented,....don't match with the PT sheet,....then you have a probable cause for Labor Board Charges based on subterfuge,...Company will have to answer for the undocumented,...and whether this is an on-going process that violates Art. 32. .....Johnson?......Tyson Johnson?......

Hey shrink wrap. Keep calling your B.A on this issue, if it doesnt get addressed, then go over his head. And what canary said was spot on. Im having the same kind of issue in nashville with upsf ,im tryin to handle it with my B.A. but it looks like he is in no kind of hurry. Im not afraid to get my hands dirty, when it comes to contract violations. Unlike most at my barn. I get the same answer from most "well whats going on doesnt affect me". It makes my stomach hurt when i talk to my so called brothers in the break room

I've noticed going into south Chicago terminal they have trouble keeping a fence up since PTS.
Drivers there claim fence has been torn down going through the gate by PTS drivers 3 times in the last 6 weeks.

Get what you pay for....

Are the PTS drivers pulling out ABF sets? Anybody bothering to check to see if PTS drivers have Doubles/Triples?...........Or are the PTS dispatchers sending in the nearest driver,...irregardless of whether he/she has the appropriate endorsements? We all know dispatchers,......."That would be the driver's problem."....................And I'm sure,...once ABF has consigned the trailers,....and the liability for safe and legal operation,.....to the various PTS companies,.......they've absolved themselves of worrying about things like "legality",....and "safety"........That would be the PTS companies' problem,....right?

They've pulled them out of 146 a few times. I think going out to 003. I am wondering if there is any way to check the endorsement

Bet if a concerned citizen called the state police about that driver cutting people off in traffic they would find out if the driver was qualified and maybe a inspection.

write down trailer info and cross reference the PT reports the company issues. All info should be presented to you upon request regarding any trailer or load. If not it is an OSHA issue. If you have a concern about a load or shipping issue and it is not addressed with you then it is a problem. contact your safety person, if your safety person gives you heat, then go over head. Most safety people for ABF are impartial to our issues with mgmnt!!

Most safety people are concerned with the liability incurred by unsafe practices,......and that would put them at odds with some of the companies' policies........
