FedEx Freight | Trick #10: Anti-Union Committee

No doubt.
I have personally seen the division it causes. Father in law retired from YRC, uncle from the Post Office, and 3 friends work for KCS. Dirty, underhanded, and illegal stories beyond count.

As I said, the burden is on the union to sell themselves. I need more than rants of "Fair Treatment!"
So far, all I have heard it empty promises of a utopian workplace.
But the record speaks for itself. So, yeah. UPS has a good contract. Ok, thats one.
Id run out of space listing the failed contracts.

I have to KNOW, not be told, that there will be a DRAMATIC change in pay, insurance, and stability at FX. Just to put up with the headaches of a union (squabbling everytime there is a new vote) is going to take at least $3hr,and. 18cpm more. Can they deliver that?

Fx has a TON of work to do and im not opposed to the threat of a union to put their ass in gear.
Our pay is slipping every year. We play 2nd stage to mid grade carriers every time we get a "raise"
Health care must be addressed, where what raise we do see, is not totally absorbed by the cost of it.

Fx is the largest, most profitable ltl carrier. Its drivers should be treated as such.

Ok so your Father in law and uncle told you division existed at those union barns and there was corruption... FedEx has that too. Read the headlines, illegal shipping of drugs, untaxed cigarettes, over charging for residential deliveries and so on... and now plenty of division... where did that division come from? The Teamsters or know it all FedEx management that keeps trying to reinvent the wheel???

Why focus on those failed union companies? UPS is one of the most successful American companies and also the largest Teamster barn,,, WHY DOES EVERYONE LISTEN TO THE FEDEX LIES ABOUT YRC AND ABF??? We are just like UPS! We have that large parent company that has billions just like UPS... stop listening to the YRC comparisons! ... lets be honest here, YRC made some bad financial moves with merging with Roadway and then FedEx came out of nowhere into the LTL industry and did unheard of 90% discounts to further hurt YRC... we at FedEx are part of YRC's problem. Believe it or not but it's true!

The bottomline is this.... FedEx Freight can go union and the company can afford the union benefits easily. They could run a tight ship and hold employees accountable just like UPS does.... do you think FedEx holds people accountable now?

I'm not sure how you came up with those figures but the union will deliver better benefits and a better future for you and your family, there will always be hate and discontent... union or non-union!

I can tell you from 20 years of union employee experience.... if FedEx went union?... every contract after that would mostly be about pension and benefits and very little about pay raises, but... if you ever want to sit around in your golden years telling stories of the good old days like your father in law and uncle?... the union pension and benefits is the way to go!

Oh and.... FX is the largest but not the most profitable... Old Dominion is the most profitable!

The facts prove otherwise.

As far as the trucking Industry, the unions track record has been less than impressive.

Right now, non-union carriers are thriving, and its been that way for a solid decade.
I would agree but union's still drive wages and benefits. If they expire who pushes the company to reward you

cause OD keeps it simple... This place treats it like ROCKET SCIENCE! A lot of mid level management trying to justify a position ... Between FEDERAL, State and local safety regulations there's plenty there to keep us IN CHECK ! Why further create division!?

FedEx has changed certain policies already with the threat of the union, they know they will be paying more per employee then what they are now....

Dang No F, you don't ask for much... :Poke: $3.00 & .18/mi. And it MUST be guaranteed (before you're swayed)? Or you'll stay with the current setup? Won't accept anything in between? I'm not buying that.:nono_h4h:

As for the things you say, MUST be addressed, How might you/we address them? Other than organizing?

Thats my feelings.

I dont want any maybes, or "well, settle for xx this contract, the renegotiate next time"

Get something in stone, then get with me.

If you see that as "letting everyone else take the risks, and do the work, then me reap the benefits" then so be it. This is your cause to champion, not mine.

Shocking admission, You and Triplethreat will get along well, waiting for the future to be secured for you. Then when it's all done, get with you?
