They ask why.... why haven't you made your gate... why were You on the dock too long... why we're you at a stop too long... why isn't your hazmat paperwork correct... why... why... why... And now why do you support the union? Now it's our turn to ask why. Why does my annual raise go to cover increase's in health care premiums? Why am I forced to work 12 to 14 hours a day? Why do I fear losing my job everyday? Why did I get a coaching form today? And now ask yourself why... Why do I get harassed after a hard days work? Why does management not appreciate what I do everyday? Why do I continue to miss my kids ballgames and family events? The why's will never stop...Neither will this organizing! People please speak up in support of this movement. There are fellow employees working hard towards a better future that will benefit all. Get involved with your inside committee. Ask how you can help. We need you. And remember always...
We are United
We are one
We are the UNION!

Lol I'm pro union and work for upsf but if you think the union is going to be able to stop all of this you will be most disappointed. Sure your pay will go up and the bennies will be locked in but the coaching and them trying to fire you won't stop all it will do is slow it down and give you a procedure to fight back. Again I agree with most of what your saying I just don't want you guys to look back and be like what happened that's all. And I wish you luck it certainly is a worthy endeavor. (Friendly UPSF Road Driver)

Why is the company attempting to fight this?

Why wouldn't they? The union has failed this industry for the last 34 years. Why have all the non-unions risen to positions of leadership while the union carriers have fallen away into the gutter? OOPS, I keep forgetting that only unionized carriers have "bad management". Somehow, the same managers that work as "bad managers" somehow become "good managers" when they go to work for non-union companies. Amazing. And the same folks who claim they loved Viking, AF and Watkins, even though most hated them; suddenly profess to hating FedEx, and being justified in that hatred, while conveniently forgetting their openly professed hatred of prior employers. Amazing again. Some folks will never be happy. And even if we did make the mistake of going union, those same *******s would be on here hating the union, because they're filled with hate...it is what it is....

Take a long look in the mirror folks...

Been pretty good to me for the last 21 years....

Then you've been very lucky...not so good to the gang at YRC who're now getting 1 year pension credit for every 4 years worked. OOPS, RC won't want to hear that. And Joe Mama will remain silent on that issue....

Where did you hear they are getting one year for every 4 worked?

Seriously? Do I have to post multiple links on the subject? Are you that out of touch? Are you a union stooge? They're getting 1 year credit for every 4 years served according to TDU, IBT and multiple other sources. That's why even YRC is complaining about how many senior drivers are leaving to finish out their time elsewhere.

Wow, you really don't work for YRC.

Joe Mama is that you?

If you didn't want to miss ball games and family events than WHY did you become a truck driver?

No, what the funds did was raise the minimum retirement age for yrcw members. I'm watching drivers retire all the time and they are getting a full year credit for each year worked. If a yrcw driver retires too soon they are penalized, just like your 401k. The senior drivers who are bailing are going to Abf to get one year of credit under full contribution which negates the minimum age requirement and they avoid the penalty. But ALL years worked at yrc, even the reduced contribution years, count as FULL years. You are just plain wrong on this.

Wow your threads over here are reminding me of the good ol'days when they were trying to unionize Overnite. A lot of in fighting and arguments. It's pretty simple though if 50% +1 vote union in then your union. Will the non union guys then leave because they went union? Doubt full give it about 3 - 5 yrs and they will be stewards and BA's. Just try to get along and don't burn all your bridges. And note not all of the union carriers are failing UPS makes profits by the dump truck load and so do their employees, once they get their seniority built up. YRC's problems all come from the fact that they have made stupid money decision via buyouts for the last 20 yrs ABF problems come from them not wanting to change how they do business. And if you actually look at the last 20 yrs of closed trucking or bought out ltls you will be surprised at how many non union carriers are actually on the list compared to union carriers
