Why is it that whenever my tractor is sent to Poconos or Hagerstown to get fixed, it's gone for at least a month? A few times over the last couple of years I have waited 4 MONTHS to get the tractor back. Mechanics aren't fired, shop supervisors aren't fired, corporate overseers certainly aren't fired, nobody held responsible for incompetence. But if I don't do my job correctly, I wouldn't make it a month without being fired. "well they have to figure out what's wrong, get the order approved, blah, blah, blah" 3 or 4 MONTHS to do this? Grossly inept for a billion dollar business. If I took my car to a mechanic and they told me it would be 3 months before I get it back, they would be closed in no time. Absurd.

Damn non union mechanics, what do you expect....lol

No, what I especially like is when you take it to HGR or POS and find out that they gave it to someone and it's down in virginia or worse

It makes perfect sense when you take into account how they run this morphadite operation.
Think about it. A hub is our most expensive asset (although it's unlikely that we own any) and we leave them unused the majority of the time.
A road tractor is the next most expensive item and we park them several hours a night while our shuttle drivers drive forklifts, which sit unused more than they are used.
So doesn't it make perfect sense to just park it at a shop until you have to cut the spider webs off to get in?

The simple answer is your tractor getting fixed in a timely manner doesn't affect any one's numbers or their bonus.

Bingo! You hit the nail on the head. Nothing in the company matters if someones numbers/bonus isn't affected. Figured that out about 5-6 years ago.

tractors for repair/service, not parked or sitting.

Your unit is not out, in the cold dark night, alone. It is instead, running it's little axx-off, doing road work, or better still, being beaten to death by a day (city) driver, who is not treating your sweetheart, as you would treat it.See this all the time.Check the mileage and you'll see what I mean.Sent my sweetheart for pm.came back three weeks later, while I received intelligence reports that It was spotted in bumfukkkk . Egypt. Must have been a bish ( see if this will fly) , trying to pm the darn thing ,while it ran those 2k extra miles around the shop. Bullslit baffle's brains.:duh:.

No part's on hand!!!!!

Know for a fact that the repair center's are not allowed to stock part's any longer, most write up's have to get approval from Harrison, Now with this being said in some case's there are no excuses for having to need 2 steer tires and you have to wait a week for them. It's a ####'s game and nobody care's.:notworthy:

Another case of, "must have looked good on paper". Likely bumped the bottom line number, short term (like 1 month), 'till inventory ran out. Also discourages some from writing up defects, since no one (usually) likes to give up their tractor. IMHO
