Are "Bills per hour" goals the same at all barns? My friend at SDA had to sign a sheet saying he'd get 8 per hour. Most say this is not realistic.

My route is about 300 miles. I'm lucky to average 1 bill per hour. The answer would be no.

He is talking dock productivity not stops per hour. 8 bph is what they want all around as far as I know, never signed a paper though.

Bills per hour would mean on the dock, right SuperDave?
In our barn city drivers as a team have a goal of 1.6 stops per hour and keep miles between stops under 4

That was dumb of me. Guess I never think dock.

8 bph is fine on a normal day. have a day when everything falls into place and 10 or 11 is easy. have a day where everything is all over the trailer or 10 bills with 47 handling units and decking nose to tail and you wont even make 6. just let the red shirts know when you get trailer from hell and you'll be fine.

Well I learned years ago to set up the trailer scan off every bill but one, then pop the door and hope nothing falls on me. You satisfy the computer nerds and it keeps the man off your back. It's a game where the rules are easy and must be played if you're a shuttle driver. 14 years 386 miles a day, couple hours on the dock, I'll take it over unemployment any day.

Actually mass scans will get you into trouble and possibly more than not making production.

Yes Big Dave, dock production. A friend of mine who has to shuttle 1-3 times a week, due to cancellation, told me this 8 bills at his sc. over at FTW it's not like that. It's easy going. At his barn it's a nightmare.

At SEA and TAC its 'pounds per hour'. 5000lbs per hour on the HUB shift in SEA and 7000lbs on the outbound dock shift in TAC.

I don't think your method would work in the northeast region, in order to get credit for bills per hour the bill must be scanned into a loading trailer. Even when we have bills that are scanned into the bay we only get half credit.

It is that way everywhere. They watch time between clock-in, and time between bill scans at the hubs during hub hours.

I so hate all of the bean counters that are over-paid in this company. They will twist the numbers so that everything looks right on paper, even if it means crappy service. Plus this snapshot stuff is crazy. Everyone finds out in advance when they are coming and then they run around trying to get everything to look like they have been complying. Insaine. We don't look out for the customers. We are too busy playing games in the offices so that the next good ole boy can be promoted on up the ladder. We don't fire people who refuse to do what is right for business because we are too busy digging holes to bury the piles of sh#$ that trickles down. What a shame for those of us that want to do the right thing, have pride in what we do and care.

I could care less about bills per hour. I get a breaker and start unloading,I deck when I have to and try to do the job right and keep moving,if that's not good enough screw them. I really believe this bill count nonsense creates an unsafe work condition with all these worry warts running around driving the jeeps way too fast in tight situations, no one will stop for you even though you are trying to maneuver a huge piece of freight out of a trailer. I am just waiting for the day when somebody is going to get seriously hurt or killed, then the company will blame it on the driver and say well we want you to work safe but faster. So I don't lose any sleep over bph and neither should any body else. If we all decide TOGETHER that I am just going to do the best that I can and the hell with the rest we would all be better off. Hell what are they going to do fire all of us!!!!
