Sysco atl or gordon foods atl ???

Gordon. Gordon. Gordon.

Don't want to start a huge debate, just stating my opinion: Last I heard ATL wasn't organized. DON'T work for Sysco in a non-union house.
Gordon's non-union as well, but I've heard NOTHING but good things about the Company.

nice ...thx for the update, i plan on attending their job fair on the 25th.....Gordon has a new house here and hiring 200 ppl , sysco also hiring too

A opportunity on the ground floor of a company would be tough to pass up, I would say Gordon, it would be real short cut to the benefits of seniority.

I work for Gordon right now. While it does have it's bad points, as every company does, be good far outweighs the bad. Getting in on the ground floor when they open up is a plus.

does Gordon have automatics trucks too and whats the top drivers yearly salary ?? I hear some guys can make up to 90k to 100k ........

We have all manual trucks in the Shepherdsville DC. I'm not sure what the delivery guys make. Transit can make between 60 and 85K plus profit sharing.

I know we had a driver transfer up to that sysco but came back year later because of not seeing his kid. Said most drivers where making 90-100k. Also we had a selector transfer to my sysco from ATL n after 3 months went back. Said its way harder here n less $$ told me most the warehouse making 90-100k up there. We only had 2 guys make over 100k at my house last year. But not anymore with them cutting hours left n right and having 6-10 new guys starting every 2wks

I'm a selector at sysco central fl in ocoee fl just outside of Orlando. Gainesville is probably a drop yard since there isn't an actually sysco there. I know my sysco we have drop yards in Ocala, deltona,Sarasota, lake wales, cocoa beach

Go to Gordon atlmel, run as fast as you can toward them, the job will be far superior to Sysco, you will enjoy your work much more, and you won't have to deal with being a new guy getting kicked out the door if we and usf merge, go to Gordon, PLEASE!!

Its your career, but thats what GT would do.

I would agree with GT. But from selector I met that went back to ATL they didn't take any paycut on this new system. Neither did Chicago got another guy transferring back there also. As where if things don't pick back up here I'm taking a 30k+yr pay cut doing the samething I've always done

i hear you GT, nut the new DC for Gordon doesn't actually open until Feb 2015 ............... Hopefully everything all works out tho

Hey drew352 we just had a driver transfer to your house and he said he loved it. He has been with Sysco for a long time said it was a great opco.

It's not a bad place but when u go from workin on avg 50hrs a wk to 32-35 it's big difference they keep hiring like crazy. Just put it this way are top 3 selectors are leaving with in next month I'm #4. Most night chilling I throw 330-350cs hrs 150-155% when I run 400+cs hr n 180-190%. I've heard they are trying to cut the drivers back to 4-10s and I know a lot of are drivers have bitches about what there routes pay now compared to what they use to

I would take a 4-10 any day of the week. My rt now is 4-12. I usually work about 43 hr's a week make in the 1300.00's that is fine with me. The loaders at our opco got hit the hardest on the new pay.

Yea I hear you I'd rather work 4days instead of 5 lol. Since hours dropped I'm avg 12-13 a wk was makin 2k+ few months ago when we still got hours. Cause for us it's all about hours since we are paid off are average. 103% is 24.xx n tops out at 160 for 37.xx. If we still got paid off case hours wouldn't matter. Our loaders are on the same pay scale as selectors and forks pay scale goes from 22.xx-34.xx
