This thread smells funny IMHO.
Not sure what this is all about. But again thank you to all the (helpful)comments so far. I'm new to the freight industry and just had a few honest questions. I realize that no company is perfect but I'm at the point in my career where staying out 3 to 4 weeks and sleeping somebody's truck is getting old. When I can wake up in my own bed and have a true 48 hrs away from the truck and still make descent money. Again thanks for all the hospitality and although some may say this thread "smells funny" etc. I'm just trying to make a living and not trying to step on anybody's toes in the process.
No offense meant, but I have been thinking the same thing as djigman, but since I'm no longer with the company, but still monitor because I still have a lot of friends there, I held my opinion: it's well known that management also comments on here, so there is suspicion when someone sounds a little too excited about the company. Not sure what this is all about. Yes, it can be tough finding jobs out there that pay the same or better, assuming you can't afford the pay cut (as was the case for me), but those jobs can be found, and I'm one of many who found one. And this used to be a much better company...For the most part this is a good company. Sure there are problems, as is the case in every company. However many like to complain about FXF, but most won't leave because they know the grass is just as brown on the other side of the fence!

You'll have more like 60+/- hours on average away from the truck when factoring Friday night and Monday morning hours off the clock. Best thing I can say is at least here you get paid for everything, if city, be it a delay, trl not ready, education, breakdown, and my favorite: cookouts/feeding time at terminal. Not saying anything about paid well or poor, just paid. Still better than OTR if family , friends, and life are more important than being a workaholic and a trucker hanging out at fuel desks and buffets. Not sure what this is all about.
