Who is the genius at fx that thinks the cost of living in OSK is more costly then say MSN,GRB,SBM,STE.
OSK received a $1.30 per hour and 2 3/4 cent per mile raise.
not once have I ever heard a osk driver complain about the cost of living since not to many of them live there.
Unless something changed I think MSN should have got the cost of living raise before osk.

who determines this decision and why out of all places that need it before osk.

I'd like to know when the decree was sent out making life fair?

I'm happy that I got a raise. I didn't expect one since the company has been loosing money month after month for a while.

This attitude (in my opinion) is one of the reasons the union companies are in the shape they are in. A Ford worker makes $40.00 an hour building a vehicle that costs $50,000 that no one but the Ford worker can afford. They have priced themselves out of a job. It's all fine and dandy to get all you can, but if it breaks the company, what good is it?

Oh yeah... welcome to truckingboards. :)

There are 4 other centers within 60 miles of osk and did not receive the cost of living raise that they got and cost the same to live near theses centers.
why should osk get $1.00 dollar more and 2 cents a mile more when the cost of living is the same?

Cost of living is determined by the department of labor, not FedEx. It is also where the terminal is located, not where people choose to live.

Why not contact Harrison and ask someone there how they came up with the numbers?

TOL (toledo, ohio) gets paid more than CMH (Columbus, Ohio). I live in columbus now but lived most of my life in Toledo. In NO way is the cost of living more in Toledo, in fact it's the other way around. I am certain that cost of living has little to do with the pay they make, it's whether or not they are a union city.

I wonder when some people are ever going to realize life ain't fair.some you win some some you lose and some you don't get to play in that is the way it is.

When you see a big orange sign that reads "LOOSE GRAVEL", are you confused?

No, but when I read a post that says "When you see a big orange sign that reads "LOOSE GRAVEL", are you confused?", I am. What the heck are you trying to say?

When a company is loosing money quarter after quarter, is it unreasonable for an employee to be surprised by an increase in pay?

Apparently the undercover spelling police have arrived and the situation is not yet well in hand.
He's dissing your spelling.

Hubba Bubba has a bone that he like to pick with me on occasion. I think it irritates him when I won't participate in the bone picking. The way I see it, if spelling is the only thing you can pick on, you are without a life and need to go to to the life store and purchase one.

I have never claimed to be a good speller. Firefox makes me look a lot smarter with the spell check feature.

I 2nd this notion.....cause i myself wasn't looking for no raise with all of the fiscal yrs loses the company has been having.

The way I look at it is a raise is more money in my pocket, and that's a good thing that I'm thankful for.
What a guy up the street makes ain't nothin to me. I work here for my paycheck, not his. As long as my check takes care of my house, then I'm good.

Cost Of living raise

I'm not sure I agree with the formula they used for this. Yes I live in an area where housing is about half of what Dallas is, However gas is $.21 more a gallon and electricity is about 25% higher, my property taxes , by percentage, are the same and food costs more in CDS than Dallas. So in general it costs less to move to CDS but more to live here than it does in Dallas yet they got a raise 100% higher than ours.

I'm glad to get a raise but it's a misnomer to call it a COLA raise. Call it a HALF COLA raise. Of course the city guys deserve a big raise because they work the hardest.

I need help though, trying to figure out what to do with my $17.00 a week raise. Should I invest in gold or real estate.

With the economy today, everybody should be thankful they even have a job.

It just blows my mind that you give some folks more money and they b****.

(not directed at you GR, I know you were just kiddin around on your last post)
