the new xjo opened monday nothing happening yet
I would think that there will be a few transferring from XAU to XJO. Back when the Caterpillar garbage started, XBN and XSF were expanded to cover all the new freight. The old XJO couldn't expand so they gave a ton of their freight away to XAU. Now they are getting it back and I'm sure some of the XAU guys will be following their freight. Will xjo be taking transfers?????
I know some people who would love to escape team xau.I would think that there will be a few transferring from XAU to XJO. XCG (Chicago) is to be closed and moved out before April 2016, XCG freight will move to XME (Melrose) and XBV (Bridgeview). XME will give XAU (Aurora) back all of Carol Stream. This is over half of our daily tonnage at XME, so with little freight from downtown Chicago, the number of linehaul runs will drop, but P&D could increase at XME. Linehaul and P&D should increase at XBV, not sure which zip codes they were giving back to XJO. XAU will give XJO (Joliet) back Romeoville I believe, but they will keep Bolingbrook, so their linehaul and P&D should increase greatly.
Personal from the 5 affected terminals will have the opportunity to transfer with senority to XAU, XBV, XJO, and XME. We have been told by upper management that if you choose to stay at XME and "roll the dice", you may end up on a walkabout at XJO as they will be needing drivers.
As for now XAU is keeping the FAC, XLA is on hold with their expansion, and XJO hasn't started with their expansion yet.
Plus as an added bonus, we will all be dealing with the XPO merger, 2016 will be an interesting year for all of us.
Good luck to all of us in this transition.
This is exactly why it makes no sense to have NINE separate terminals in Chicagoland. Would make much more sense to run everything out of 2-3 large terminals up there.
xla is the biggest terminal in the system in volume that place aint goin anywhere beside maybe getting even biggerIs that the one at100 th and Harlem Bridgview ?
