......So I was at the TOL center the other night and noticed 10-15 Fedex Ground pups all staged together.....Hmmmmmm I wonder if it's because of the POS petition...get my drift? Any input?............

We've had em in our yard for over a year now. If they popped up out of the blue, then there may be cause for concern.

Well in the past I've seen CGX put on two road slots to run holiday volume for Ground with Grounds pups........
I've also seen in the past CGT load our freight off the dock onto Ground pups in a lane or two....but never have I see more than two or three at a barn like I seen at TOL the other night........
It's just funny how they popped up all of a sudden after the POS petition...so basically I smell:****::****::****:

just make notes if starts to get real bad report it to your local and let them look into it.

It's getting that time of year. HUBs and larger centers will start helping Ground cover lanes that they can't due to Ground's seasonal volume increases. Freight will actually assign driver's to work exclusively for/with ground running sets just like they were Freight sets. Then when the Ground pups are empty in the a lane that would benefit Freight, they share the heavy lifting. GBO in NC has had quite the relationship with Ground hauling their pups throughout various locations. And no...they load straight framed Ground pups, not the belly pups in case someone was wondering how to get a forklift into the basement. Chuckle if you will but that question gets asked every season. I've loaded quite a few Ground pups out of CLT NC last season with Freight freight just to get equipment back to point A. I do believe there is still a shiny wheeled Ground dolly or two squirreled away out back in CLT.

So the sky is not falling and FXF is not kicking Freight drivers in the shorts with the presence of spotting Ground pups to make you go Hmmmm....

(off topic but on my mind) and one more thing, please? Pretty Please....? To the folks who are pro-union or the like. Please stop writing Pro-union things on the back doors and side skirts of the pups and vans. We get it. There is a fight ensuing but the surfaces of the equipment are not your billboards. Take some of that "coffee and donut" money and rent a real billboard to get your word out. Usually a 1-800 number at the bottom of the billboard to help you get this started. I'm sure you'd be a bit irate if you got out to your vehicle at the end of your shift to find that your SCM wrote "Just One More" on the tailgate of your dirty pick-up.

Thank you for your time.

But Freight drivers pulling Ground sets do. A Pup is a pup. 28' of freight fits in a 28 foot pup no matter who's name\e is on the side. From now to after the first part of the new year you'll see Ground sleeper cabs all hunkered down waiting for Freight freight on Ground pups to be released.

Sorry if it's for us to help ground why are they on tol yard? They load packages at ground not freight! The guys that did it at our barn bobtailed to ground to pickup trailers! Last year west Memphis started loading ground trailers with our freight. You will know if the trailers don't have those compartments under them! If they don't then they are gonna start loading trailers out of Toledo! Look ground slow time is summer when we are busy! THAT'S when they were only suppose to be helping us! I always jumped on the dock when I saw a new shinny wheel so I could see where it was being loaded too! There is no reason for ground trailers to be on our yard unless there are plans to pull our freight.

I will say they were dropping ground vans for those guys that were doing smart post, but that was 53 foot trailers! If there are pups WITHOUT compartments under trailer then watch out and if at dock see where they are going!

We all knew they would mess with us our try to scare people, but if they start loading a ton and people aren't working call your local and the NLRB will be notified!

I would not lose sleep over it. The Ground issue, that is. If we start getting bombarded by a lot more purchase vans, then it might be a concern. Remember, the company will use all the scare tactics they have at hand, without crossing the line. Catch my drift?

Bill Logue is in a fight for his career, he's gonna use all kinds of "ammo" to scare us. But I believe he's the one living in fear right now. His parachute will not deploy when the time comes. Have faith and think how you would handle this "war" if you were the man in charge. PSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE!!!

Think about it, they have good reason to use scare tactics in TOL. If TOL falls, that would be HUGE!!! The gateway to Canada. That will also send a message to the Canadians eh! Canadians too want to organize. I believe TOL falling would send our "DEAR LEADER" packing for greener pastures. And I bet CON-WAY won't take him!!!

Storage issue.

It's getting close to Ground's busy time of year, I would gander a guess that if FedEx Ground's Toledo's yard is full, then Ground is just storing their trailers at Freight's yard. I wouldn't read any thing into this.:coffee1:

let them put ground trl. on our yard let them try and scare us but when we vote yes we all will be able to have a say in how much of that crap they can do. right now we don't have a say so on what fedex does.but we will soon VOTE YES

Ground shouldn't be a threat.
I was next to a kid who worked for a contractor had no benifits at all..

If they are your " replacement'
theyll NEVER get enough drivers.
Fire them for that dumb idea.

It looked to me that those ground trailers were just being housed in TOL yard, hooked my set right in front of them last night and noticed they were all drop deck trailers. We couldnt load them if we wanted to.

Have you seen the way some of the freight trailers are loaded? I'll bet they could give it one hell of a shot.

We have ground 53 foot trailers on the yard in cmh they are running fright to Florida and back to cmh loaded both ways.

NO BIG DEAL...... Ground in Perrysburg is adding 200 doors.. They bought an old industrial building in AMPOINT PARK where there at to tare it down to create more space... with all the construction equipment the needed some more space... Just using our facility for Space... No DOOM and GLOOM! GLORIFIED DRAMA QUEENS!

I asked dispatch at TOL what the Ground pups were there for. There's a handful, maybe 12, all lined up in a row. Dispatch says Ground is expanding the facility they've got up the road from us.

And they're all parcel belly trailers. They can't be loaded with freight. Cool your jets, boys. I'd have been more worried if they'd been '53 trailers.
