He sounds like management to me (I remember years ago when you guys tried to target us.) guess what history repeats itself.

That may very well have some bearing on the vote. The terminal could of easily rerouted the freight. I commend all of the yes voters. They fought a great fight. The no voters, i really think are going to cost many their jobs. The campaign is on to make examples. No regard to how hard you work, no matter the seniority, they will be the examples this company uses to tame the the movement. One thing i will never ever figure out is some that we have here. They gripe, **** and moan, complaining day and night, but reluctant to get off their hind ends to make a difference. We are not alone, conway has it too. Take away a man's pension and they still fight a union. .I'm shaking my head in wonder.

The ups package truck gets a helper every year around Christmas time. Do you ever see fedex package get a helper? Don't give me that crap about ups working harder then us. And I find it funny that ups freight wants nothing to do with the union. That's coming STRAIGHT from the ups freight drivers. Again, if you guys don't like fedex then quit and go elsewhere. It's not that hard. Stop crying about making 50-100k a year. Geesh! You probably never got spankins as a kid I'm guessing.

1st of, I need you to clock to "education", this may take a while... YOU, Chic, stated that "union people just don't wanna work" I offered an obvious case to rebut your claim. The fact that USP gets a seasonal helper, doesn't really apply to anything being discussed here. Stay with me, don't get distracted.
"UPS Freight want's nothing to do with the union"? They have a contract. MOST agreed to that contract, via a vote.. They are the BEST compensated in the industry, period, both package and LTL. Your statement lacks context as to what they don't like,as well as how many don't like it? Best to avoid painting with such a broad brush.
Then you suggest: "quit and go elsewhere". Many have blood, sweat, and many years/decades invested in this Company. We never changed our terms of employment, but the Company sure did. Do you deny that the effort to fix that is wise and prudent, before leaving? Oh, but we can agree, for most, "It's not that hard", if necessary.
Crying about 50-100k/year? Quite a difference between 50k and 100k. About $1000/wk. Where did that number come from? I like facts, so here's one. In my area of the world, As of Jan 4th, 2015 UPSF will make $27.10/hr + huge benefits, Conway will make $25.41/hr with comparable (to ours) benefits, Old Dominion? $24.95... FedEX Freight? $23.68... Of course, I know, that's exactly what we're worth.
Oh, and before getting off the education clock, please use the "reply with quote" button (rather that just reply), so we know who you are replying to. It aids in clearly communicating, with your intended party.

Conway in the northeast will be higher than you stated, right under UPS freight in January . 27.10 an hour. And we at fedex will be 25.73. Thanks Fred for undervaluing your workers again while saYing we are the best
Every "two post wonder" has to have this explained to them, don't they? That's usually a good sign they've only heard one side of the discussion, and really have no clue to the process or the topic in general. They never let the facts get in their way. :smilie93C_peelout:

I don't drive for FedEx. I am a Teamster. You come across as someone with bs inside info, trying to teach your fellow drivers/dockworkers(if you even are a driver or a dockworker), a lesson.
You do realize that if not for the Teamsters, there would be no such thing as seniority, bid runs, call back after layoff, etc., etc.. All benefits provided to non union LTL employees because of the Teamster influence in the industry.
You however live in a Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity(all union members by the way)brainwashed world. You think because you are the flavor of the day that you will be rewarded well into your career? History has shown differently.
If the executive officers of every major company, work and provide their services under a contract, why is that type of work environment not acceptable in your mind for your fellow drivers/dockworkers?
Maybe you think we should all work at companies like Swift, Werner, etc., with a 100% and more turnover rate. After all, those companies have your attitude also, "if you don't like it leave."
