FedEx Freight | The REAL reason they dont belong.

Your ignorance is amazing. Let me take you to school for a second......
The ups package truck gets a helper every year around Christmas time. Do you ever see fedex package get a helper? Don't give me that crap about ups working harder then us. And I find it funny that ups freight wants nothing to do with the union. That's coming STRAIGHT from the ups freight drivers. Again, if you guys don't like fedex then quit and go elsewhere. It's not that hard. Stop crying about making 50-100k a year. Geesh! You probably never got spankins as a kid I'm guessing.

So...............out of approximately 20,000 UPSF employees a couple of employees (who still enjoy all those union benefits) said that they don't like the union and you have decided in your warped mind that no one at UPSF wants a union? Let me tell you a secret.....UPSF was given 3 years to become union and within 8 months city drivers, road drivers, dock workers, mechanics and clerks and every terminal UPSF has, was organized. Why you ask? because they wanted a union. By the way, this post came STRAIGHT from a UPSF driver.

The op guy/gal/he-she, is nothing but a Koch Brothers propaganda artist.

Must be tough for him/her/he-she to look themselves in the mirror every morning.

Do you union guys really think that we want you to get involved in our company after the way you're already treating our people because you lost one vote? You're showing your true colors by name calling and threatening our drivers. But you wonder why your Union is failing. It comes down to this........ We don't need you nor do we want you. If you don't like our ways then I suggest you transfer to a union company. BECAUSE THIS ONE obviously doesn't want you!
GO FEDEX!!!!

Well Chickenstack, the ONLY reason you make the money you do is because of the Union. Viking understood a million years ago that to keep good, qualified drivers, they would have to at least pay near to the Union pay scale. Even though our pension is a joke, the ONLY reason we have one is because of the Union. I'm actually surprised that FedEx hasn't nixed it yet. They have shown they can be ruthless in it's dealings with their employees, uprooting families to follow the work, then redrawing the lanes, taking that work away, leaving the families to just deal with it.

It's apparent you haven't been here long and have bought into the utter crap they feed us. Let me clue you in. They don't give a damn about you. You are merely a means to an end and if it was even a tiny bit advantageous to them, they would fire you in the blink of an eye and escort you off the property without another thought. There is no loyalty anymore. Not from the company of course, but from the employees. There has been an ongoing bleeding of employees. I know of a SC that lost at least four redshirts, about 10 drivers and many, many dockworkers. And, they simply don't seem to care. They just work their people a little harder and longer to make up for it, and entire months are "x'd" out so there is no time off. You want a day off, call in sick.

You also seem to buy into the "if you don't like it, leave" philosophy. Life isn't so simple. I know drivers that would LOVE to leave, but don't want to start over at 55. Very few companies would even hire an older person.

We are not an industry leader in any sense of the word. We don't make as much as other companies, (even non-union). Old Dominion is one. We have "leaders" who think they can reinvent the LTL world, and are failing miserably at it. Ask any west coast line driver about just how dysfunctional our system is. They tell us to be efficient as possible, yet because of they way they run docks now, several drivers will go into the same customer. That's just stupid. Yet..... they don't care. I've never seen the amount of damaged freight and missorts in my entire career.

This company steps over dollars to pick up pennies.

You just haven't experienced their wrath yet.

fedex wouldn't make a pimple on Americian Freightways butt by they way they treat their employees

I don't understand these Fedex cheerleaders. If you are content then good for you, but do you really have so much faith in this company that you actually cheer them on?

You people need to understand Fedex is NOT a trucking company like AF Viking Watkins where. There business is LOGISTICS, look at the deal they recently got in china with a web based online company in china called Alibaba, this is a huge gain for them as well as UPS.

1st of, I need you to clock to "education", this may take a while... YOU, Chic, stated that "union people just don't wanna work" I offered an obvious case to rebut your claim. The fact that USP gets a seasonal helper, doesn't really apply to anything being discussed here. Stay with me, don't get distracted.

"UPS Freight want's nothing to do with the union"? They have a contract. MOST agreed to that contract, via a vote.. They are the BEST compensated in the industry, period, both package and LTL. Your statement lacks context as to what they don't like,as well as how many don't like it? Best to avoid painting with such a broad brush.

Then you suggest: "quit and go elsewhere". Many have blood, sweat, and many years/decades invested in this Company. We never changed our terms of employment, but the Company sure did. Do you deny that the effort to fix that is wise and prudent, before leaving? Oh, but we can agree, for most, "It's not that hard", if necessary.

Crying about 50-100k/year? Quite a difference between 50k and 100k. About $1000/wk. Where did that number come from? I like facts, so here's one. In my area of the world, As of Jan 4th, 2015 UPSF will make $27.10/hr + huge benefits, Conway will make $25.41/hr with comparable (to ours) benefits, Old Dominion? $24.95... FedEX Freight? $23.68... Of course, I know, that's exactly what we're worth.

Oh, and before getting off the education clock, please use the "reply with quote" button (rather that just reply), so we know who you are replying to. It aids in clearly communicating, with your intended party.

Thanks for the "schooling", I'll try not to be so ignorant in the future. On the subject of "spankins" your ignorance is no surprise... :732:

SwampRat thank you for taking the time to read our contract and get acquainted with our wages and benefits. On this whole debate your the only one who has posted real, verifiable, and meaningful information related to the NMFA Agreement.

Chickenstack you should have talked to some of the Parcel Drivers who get helpers for the Christmas season before making that generalization. Those come about during peak season to assist drivers with over 70 to 150 lb. parcels and holiday volume increases. That amount increases during peak so yes its a benefit but also a safety control so one guy doesn't hurt themselves moving large oblong heavy packages in snow, ice, or rain. Its more cost beneficial to put another person on that truck than paying medical bills for herniated discs, shoulders, slip/fall, etc.....Those guys usually hump around 150-200 stops a day and thats not during peak. . Not all of them are that weight but they do increase exponentially during peak.

To rebut your argument that union people are lazy that is ridiculous. At UPS you work you #$% off in this place there is NO SCREWING around. The management and rank and file will not tolerate that kind of behavior. We are the best paid truckers PERIOD because of our worker productivity. UPSF is the second best paid PERIOD due to the same reasons regarding productivity. The turnover rate for feeder drivers (UPS Tractor Trailer Drivers) is nonexistent unless they retire.

You also said if you don't like it here then they should leave. Why the heck should they leave? Some of those guys have given this company the best years of their lives and to be told that kind of nonsense is ridiculous. It all boils down to simple respect. Which you obviously have 0 for your fellow drivers and dockmen. Hence why you have NLRB elections underway and can't recruit.

You guys can say whatever you want about how good the union is. Bottom line is look what you done to yellow roadway, you have nothing to offer for FedEx! And obviously we don't want you in here or you would've won the vote. If you didn't get in New Jersey then you defiantly won't get in anywhere else. LMFAO!!!!!! And I hope you target my terminal because you'll be getting a reality check I assure you! I have more to say but I'm headed to work to celebrate the good news with my coworkers!!! ITS PARTY TIME!

You might want to get your facts straight Chickenstack. The CEO of Yellow/Roadway deserves all the credit for destroying them. The Teamster's did everything they could to save Yellow/Roadway after his blunders.

Wait wait wait wait I thought that's what the union was for, job security! I thought that's why you sign contracts?!?!

Are you confused? Poor management of a company created the mess for YRC. Now if you want to talk about job security let's have at it. After the Zollars disaster, the existing labor agreements were renegotiated to ensure the jobs of the YRC employees. Unless I was dreaming this morning when I walked through the gate at my barn, my job was secured by a union contract.

Awesome 1st post! Chest pumped up and all that. That's OK, there's room for ya. Just know you'll be presented facts that'll disprove your perception. If your really interested in facts. So far, it doesn't look like you are.

After he has been here more than a day or two,, he "might" see this place will throw you out just like anybody else......
