FedEx Freight | Question from a new guy.

The better question would be...why are SO many drivers who have been anti union in the past and have 10,15,20 + years with Fedex seeking out the Union at all? Best guess is Fedex is not listening to the drivers complaints over the several years. Have done more taking than giving and it looks as though it is only the begining. Nothing the drivers have benefit wise, including yourself is safe , it can be changed at anytime. Pay. Benefits. Etc. Drivers have put 10,15,20+ yrs. Into Fedex and are being treated like garbage all while being expected to be grateful to have a job. Of course anyone coming to Fedex in the last 3-4 years from a lesser paying, or harder job has not a clue how things used to be. So they don't know what they are missing..they never had it to compare with what is offered now.

Used to have a dedicated FEDEX worker in a medical dept we could call for insurance claims and denials...people who worked to help drivers families, not screw them. Same with dental and vision claims. Big changes happened real fast and now with ACA being used as an excuse, drivers who live within thier means and have no debt. can be on the hook for up to $9600 max out of pocket if 1 family member happens to have serious medical emergency and the hospital and surgeons are not in the Network. Happens all the time. One can not be seriously hurt and say..hey wait...I need to call cigna and make sure the hospital and surgeon are in network. Most people.do not have $9600 laying around unless they tap a 401 k or use a CC.

Driver score card..done away with..but holy heck...that was the icing on the cake..it is probably being tweaked and will be reintroduced in another form...
Good info for him!

I've been here 5 yrs. it's the best thing going. Had to relocate to keep my job during the merger. THIS JOB is the best thing going. A lot of drivers thinks it's bad needs to go back out to the real world and see how good they have it here. This whole ordeal of representation is crap. Me for one I'm totally against it. But don't let me or a pro union guy convince you of what's right. Listen and make the decision on what's best for you and your family

You will NEED more drivers because the union promotes laziness , but you will HAVE less drivers because the company will pay benis for the bare minimum. That is the TRUTH and junior guys will be out of a job. The way our terminal operates is senior guys will take convience days when it slows down allowing the junior guys to work. With a union this will not happen.

Simply no longer the case. Look at UPS and UPS Freight. You just won't see laziness. Never have seen lazy UPS package guys, and UPS Freight guys, with their TOP of the industry contract, take their work seriously. Pride has a way of doing that.

You say the company will NEED more drivers, but Have less. Why would the Company turn to that level of mismanagement, just because their workforce became union? The company actually "works" the bare minimum, now. Your theory is deeply flawed.

People need to look at the facts as they are today. Take good care of your horse, it'll pull strong and enthusiastically, beat on your horse, and it'll pull just enough for the beatings to stop. Nothing more.

I agree but sometimes you got to move on. .. need a change of scenery. . Or a different colored horse.

Judge, Jury, and Executioner?

You have to understand when a new poster jumps right into a previously (and repeatedly) covered topic, many become suspicious as to the genuine nature of the question... Making it difficult to answer with kindness and courtesy.

They could be a little more sensitive. I haven't expressed too much on this because I see what happens. . But then again I had the time to read old threads.. maybe he didn't or should have.

Laziness, that's too funny. We have that now without the union. Not everyone, maybe 20%. I could tell you stories from our barn that would make you boil, but then again, that's everywhere. You can only blame them for being lazy so long. Sooner or later you need to hold management accountable. It's by favoritism or stupidity that it's allowed to continue.

Love the new video out. Everyone see it? Driver scorecard never coming back. It was a mistake. Ya, just like the resignation of bc. It's all image. It'slikely that could of been done to appease tthe stockholders, to imply to them they have a grip on things. we are not to notice that they reshuffle bad management. Hmmmm..kind of a no brainer there isn't it? They coined a phrase years ago, diesel dummies, that must be what they think of us.

one question I would like to ask some of these folks who claim they are drivers..how do you think ups got the perks they do? How did they get the good pension, better pay, better hospitalization? Do you think the union could have anything to do with it? I mean, after all, we are bigger than ups, by a landslide , and yet we don't reflect it.

In all fairness, we can't expect every new member to read through 19 pages (at last count) of threads, many with 20-50 pages each, before asking a question. I have too, but only because I was observing from near the beginning.

Convenience days happen at union barns. And the rest of your post contradicts itself. If you are going to post the "truth" educate yourself first.

Actually, I have implied that at all. The question really was to know about other centers, because mine is pretty good.

Get my head out of my ass??
Well, should of I reworded
my question??
Something like, wtf is the problem??
You don't like how your treated, then leave!
Is that better for you??
If your wife or girlfriend treats you bad for a few years you gonna stay or get a divorce??
Mind you, you have years invested with this person, so what do you do??

My head is far out of my ass, o was being polite, but if that don't work for you, we can really go a different rout! Is that a big 10-4 good buddy!?

If my wife paid my salary I would! Especially if had been there 20 yrs!

I would start a union called the international brotherhood of abused husbands, and file a grievance on her ass!!!! LMAO sorry I couldn't resist

It's so obvious that corporate is viewing trucking boards! Everything we talk about on here are things they are trying to change! Except pay, pension, and insurance.

Complained about ASCM. They moved him. Complained about b.c. He's gone. Scorecard gone. We talked about it coming back. Now there's videos that it will never come back.

Guess we need to stop posting on here before they clean everything up and kill our union effort!
P.S. Since your reading corporate by moving s.w. instead of firing him you have just infuriated people because you have put more people in harm's way of his unethical behavior and also left yourself open for more lawsuits. I think the word I'm looking for is negligence. Oh and can we get a new hr person too! This person has let numerous people down over the years, and most of us that have serious issues bypass are local hr and call C.P. because of our distrust or lack of faith in our local hr person.

wow when it is slow in a union barn. the city supervisor starts with number one and works his way down to see if anyone wants off. As for the laziness comment. cant see where that is coming from. senior guys have the option on the amount of work they do. if a less senior guy is in the barn at the same time then seniority rules. that is the problem with this union fight going on right now is the amount of drivers that are not educating themselves with information from both sides. I ran into a Cinnaminson driver who felt sorry for ehp because he actually thought since they voted in the union that they lost their healthcare and were gonna be laid off. I have one question noticed the amount of fed-ex trucks running out of cin drastically decreased around the time of your vote. did fedex slow the amount of freight into cin by raising prices as a scare tactic.
