If they pay forklift drivers that, they pay their " educated business" types more. We're not supposed to envy the execs but its A-OK to envy forklift drivers. Double standard.....My thoughts on substance abuse is it affects everytype evenly.....and since union numbers are low...more nonunions do it....at least we have drug tests and rules 2 strikes and done at NPME. Worker favorites probably do drugz WITH bosses at nonunion shops.

Yeah, I'm sure the $35 an hour forklift operator had nothing to do with it. Get real, when you are producing a product that is only affordable to the ones producing it, there is something wrong.

Here at Ford in Kansas City, several workers (union) got fired for drinking and smoking pot on their lunch break. They got their jobs back, months later, thanks to the union. Way to go UAW.

Are you sure it was Kansas City?? I remember a while back about a few guys in Detroit that this happened to .. That's when the anti union Fox news had it all over there news stations.. Fox news dared the union to do something and they did what people pay dues for.. They got them there jobs back.. You sound a little jealous because no one has your back..

There is a difference between envy and disbelief. I've always said that it is possible to price yourselves out of a job. The auto industry did. You union guys like to blame all failures on bad management. Employee wages must stay in check with the economic climate. I'm not saying the guys at FedEx shouldn't make more, I'm saying the auto workers were. I get tired of the "I'm getting mine while the getting is good" mentality. Doesn't really mean a lot to the many auto workers that are out of work.

Like i said, if the only people that can afford your product are the people making that product, your market share will be really small. Non union companies have very strict rules on drugs and alcohol. Come to work drunk, get fired. Use drugs, get fired. That's the way it should be. Do you really want to buy a vehicle made by someone high or drunk?

You'e right, it was Detroit. My mistake.

I have no need to be jealous. I don't use drugs and I sure don't drink on the job. I don't need someone to have my back, I have myself to take care of that.

Speaking of coming to work drunk, I shook the executive VP's (P.R.) hand last week and had a brief conversation with him on our dock. He reeked like alcohol. I was not the only driver to notice it. Over a dozen drivers had asked me if I smelled alcohol on his breath. The man is second in charge of this company, never been to NHS (2nd highest freight moving facility in the FXF network), and when he finally does show up, it takes the threat of a union and a few stiff drinks to finally show his face. That's outrageous and left one hell of a first impression on myself and many others. He must've sobered up the past few days, I haven't been in the terminal this week but no one called me about any 'spirited' execs this week. Isn't this suppose to be our 'Leadership'? If any one of us came to work in that condition, we'd be sent straight to the outpatient clinic to pee in a cup and breathe into a tube. Great way to lead by example, Mr. R.

He must of thought he had to lower his brain cells to that if a dumb truck driver. LMAO

No once and done firing when a top dogs drinking Mr. Gaurdrail.........How much could be lost if he makes a drunken decision? Double standard again.
