The LHD is here, NSH was supposed to get 3 SLEEPER team runs, but so far they only could find 2 drivers (as of 10-24-14.) They will be leaving the NSH service center on TUESDAY the 28th @ 03:00, and heading to HRS. and from there, I dont know yet, hell I dont think the company does. Once they get rolling this week, I will keep you all posted. I do know this, they were supposed to drive a older upsf single screw sleeper. ( that has been sitting in NSH for over a month now), but they will be driving a rented twin screw penske sleeper, They did that because when they get to the big hubs, ups wanted them to have the option ofplling a contractor trailer, with no weight issues. The company couldnt find anyone to get hired on at upsf for the LHD position, so UPS is telling the two LHD drivers that "they will be getting 5000-6000 miles a week and a sign on bonus also". Nothing like that is in writing, so we in NSH will believe when we see it. like i said, I WILL keep all of you posted, once I am able to gather more info. Thanks again brothers n sisters.

Are you sure they are not being hired in as truckload, because they team up and pull our trailers and are non union and can therefore get a sign on bonus also they tend to drive all our older equipment. If that is the case they will be running under the subcontracting clause and not the lhd clauses

Lhd. One team so far. One driver of the Lhd team took his union oath last sunday at the hall. So unless the union lets sub contractors take their oath, they are lhd. They r in a ryder truck twin screw. Trust me, they r lhd. Im out of the same barn as them. NSH022

OK was told the couldn't hire lhd till they had their full compliment of road drivers and here on HRS we are still around 10 drivers short. I will see that the stewards know that these guess are inbound so we can keep an eye on them. Thanks for the info and let me know if you hear anything else please

They are heading to moo empty. It looks like they are following the original route that was made by the competition committee acouple months ago. From there they should go to greenville s.c then to south holland over to det then memphis then back to nsh. And then repeat one more time. For a grand total of around 3900 miles

I'm sure Hoffa is very disappointed with the lack of LHD positions, you know he was banking the 3000 new dues paying members,
I guess UPS got one over on him because it's business as usual (as in the first contract language).

They might be following the rules this time. Perhaps the next 20 times. But it won't stay that way.
