ODFL | 3rd quarter numbers are HERE

In Vegas terms: read'm and weep. 83.0 o.r. Great job everyone!!!
Congratulations from a retired Yellow guy. All companies have negatives. However O.D. as a whole seems to have the happiest employees, the best upper mgmt., and the most competent and efficient operational set-up in the LTL business. After reading all of the negative talk on TB, it is refreshing to see happy employees working hard and reaping the benefits.

I sure wished they would put a terminal here, I would come outta retirement.. I didn't always like OD because of their pay, but they are the fastest moving freight company going right now,IMO... Now, if they just don't forget what got'em there..

You folks need to put a terminal in Central Louisiana.. You have P&G, Plastipak,GE(Dresser Valve), AFCO Industries, Baker Mfg.,Union Tank Car Co. and several Boise Cascade and Willamette Valley plants in the area.... New blood would do that area good IMO... I hear AAA Cooper just pulled out and their terminal is available... I think it's an 8 or 10 door terminal...

Congrats to the od guys. You guys r the highest paid non union outfit, and have new equipment, and many new and or improved service centers.i havent seen an O.R in the mid 80's since before the recession, and even then other outfits would be in the 87's 88's. And od has been in the 80's for years now. Congrats, I hope you guys get a big raise ( so other outfits will have to dish out some more cash to keep their drivers)

Before I laid it down back in August at Estes, we had 11 quit in Dallas and go to OD, just in the month of June and July... Even the Asst. TM in Dallas at Estes told the guys over there, "I don't blame anyone who quits Estes to go to OD"... LOL.. That's when it's getting bad...

OD had a service center in Alexandria up until a few years ago, I was there in 2005 it was kind of a dump to be honest, I put my loads to the docks but the lot the empties were in was ankle deep in water when I said something about it I was told "Yeah that lots always like that" I wasn't sorry I never went back there.

I know, it was in the "not so favorable part of town" as I recall... That building use to be a package service building, not real suitable for a freight line... I use to pass by it going to a grocer supply house.. I often wondered where you guys unloaded freight, until I made a wrong turn and had to turn around behind that building, what a hole-in-the-wall place.... The one that Cooper was in, in Pineville is a nice terminal.. It's small and you wouldn't be able to add to it, because the schoolboard owns the land behind it.. Mack tried to buy the land but was told they would never sell it... I had a couple of freinds work outta that terminal.. That had 25 years or better with Cooper when they were told they were closing it.. A real heart crusher for those guys.. Another 5 or 6 years those guys would be retiring...

That's a shame for those AAA guys Cooper never has really recovered from the '08-'09 recession, of course being a medium sized regional carrier automatically puts you on the endangered species list. lts Like being a seal pup in a shark tank!
