With several centers voting in the coming days and weeks, there are several things to think about and remind ourselves of. There has been quite a lot of information that has been learned and shared here. Much of it is buried in countless threads, that would take days or weeks to review.

In an effort to place the most important info in one place, for easy reference, I’d like to start a thread, that can (hopefully) help those seeking information, find it in an easier spot.

Many seem to think there is some kind of betrayal of the company, by seeking representation. This is really incorrect, IMHO. No one at the company will be "personally" effected by a yes vote, or even full unionization. The only ones to be effected "personally" are the members who stand to gain a better situation in the workplace. Wages, benefits, work rules, all effect the worker "personally".
Marginally higher cost will have no effect on management at a personal level. Don't feel bad for seeking better for yourselves, and your family. The company doesn't feel bad about your declining condition. In fact, FedEx changed the entire relationship between the workforce and management, since purchasing all 3 companies that would become FXFE. Those companies’ owners would be deeply saddened by the changes made in the solid foundation they laid. In fact they would support this effort, IMHO.

Stay STRONG and remember what brought us to this point...

"The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that last year median weekly earnings for union members were $200 higher than for non-union workers. That's not pocket change, and it doesn't even account for the superior benefits enjoyed by union members," said Labor Secretary Thomas Perez.

Compensation: There is more to this than just a weekly paycheck. The entire package is well behind the competition. Lets recall the insurance.

Once a shop votes yes, that shops wages and benefits are frozen until a contract is negotiated . There is no time limit on negotiating a contract. all FedEx has to do is negotiate in good faith. vote NO,

OK we won't get our annual .30/hr raise and benefits are frozen so they won't get worse next time? Sound about right?

That could be a good thing not to be able to slash health insurance even more

But dave, your compensation package has, in effect, been frozen for years. You just have not been paying attention, Dave.

Or even better.Get a pay raise on certain things. Then they cut the time alloted for that job to get done.I used tell them to quit giving me pay raises. It was costing me money somewhere else on the job..lol

If you follow the numbers, there is room for improvement, across the board, with minimal effect on the bottom line. Everyone can win.

Getting BACK ON TOPIC...

For those about to VOTE,we do SALUTE YOU! You know what caused this movement, and you know what the main reasons are. Many are posted here: http://www.truckingboards.com/forum...our-main-reason-vote-union-fedex-freight.html

Now, in the past few week, some things may have changed. The scorecard was tossed and the MOST PUNITIVE corrective action policy was reduced. That's a good thing, but we know it can rear it's ugly head, with little or no notice. Other than those small tokens what has the company offered to address in REAL terms? Anything that really matters? Have they promised to even look into better insurance? Have the spoken to the issue of better pension contribution? Have they promised to correct inconsistencies in the area of rules and practices? Any offer to get, even a little bit, closer to the competition, in terms of compensation? What about that quarterly bonus that was quietly discontinued?

We've heard about cookouts and donuts, but have they really offered anything of significance? Apparently they still don't get it, or they still don't hear you. You have to SPEAK UP, with the only VOICE you have, and in the only terms they understand. Right now, your's is the only VOICE they're listening to... Make sure they understand it.

SPEAK UP WITH A YES VOTE!
