We have a customer who now uses a whole body scan similar to what is used at some airports. They have you stand in different positions and then bend over so it can look up your rear. I refuse to have to go through this and luckily so far I haven't been asked to go there.
My question is has anyone dealt with customers like this? We were told we have to follow customer's security procedures about taking belts and shoes off to pass through a metal detector, but to me this seems like an invasion of privacy and completely overboard! What are your opinions on this?

Sounds a little overboard to me! What are they shipping/receiving???

BTW, love your pic, we feel the same way about Cam Newton here!!!!
If Cam could only read a defense!!!!!

I hauled explosives and weapons for the military. I never had to endure any such scans. What the heck can they possibly be shipping, that FedEx would be cleared to haul, that would require this kind of intrusive scan?

Years ago (pre-9/11) I made deliveries to the underground docks at the Charlotte jail and all I did was sign in, they didn't so much as check my ID. I guess they figured if I was driving the truck I was okay to be there.

Body scanners? Dang times have changed.

Don't do it. High radiation in those scanners. You have a right to say no. Just talk to your manager about your concerns. It shouldn't be a problem

I could understand about no cell phone , pocket knife, gun or camera allowed. I wouldn't be taking my shoes or anything else off. Let someone else haul their stuff.

Not even at Fort Knox do you have to submit to this kind of intrusive Bull crap. You cannot safely scan people often or daily without your body absorbing so much radiation. I would write a letter to my Congressman, seriously. Video games? Give me a break!!

We have never been told we have to follow rediculous security proceedures. Fed Ex needs to offer black velcro belts with a silver buckle and steel toe slippers if we have to partially disrobe at every customer. Returning freight to the center don't bother me at all.

What is the company policy on this? I know there has been some talk, in the past, on the requirement to submit your CDL vs. the company ID.

If it is a full body scan why would you have to bend over? Sounds like someone is spreading bs.

No spreading BS You can ask the several drivers from my center that have gone through it. Not really sure what the scan shows. One driver said it's like an airport body scanner and yesterday another said it is a metal detector on steroids.

Not saying they don't have a scanner, but you wouldn't have to bend over that's the part that someone is bsing about imo. If it is scanning all you have to do is stand there just like the airport.

We were told we don't have to give out our personal information ( cdl ). A company I.D. badge, a delivery receipt, and company equipment should be enough of a requirement.
