Yellow | IBT just sent this to me

First thing the IBT Executive Board should do is fire the Union trustees of Central States...

The Board of Trustees

Union Trustees

Charles A. Whobrey
Jerry Younger
George J. Westley
Marvin Kropp

:ranting2:
agree 100% , they all need to fired and plus they should be taking a -15% to -30% pay cut , ,cause the fund in in $$$$ trouble just like yrcw fake funny numbers to get us to take a pay cut !!!

There is in the NCCMP draft, not sure how closely that draft was followed for this final amendment. Just like the "Snapback" the "Stock Warrants" and "Profit Sharing".....don't count it till its in your pocket. :6792:
By God, Wolf, that is some funny stuff there. :1sm057crazy:

I got one better for you guys and gals. How about we draft a bill and put it to a vote, that says since the government is underfunded, that all government pensions be cut by 30 to 66 percent. Maybe then our reps in office will see the error or their ways. Oh by the way they do not get to vote on this bill we do. One way or another, we do vote on their jobs, at election time. Don't take me wrong, I am not against some pension reform, but not like this, fast and furious, back door deal.

actually Stark, you have a point, just because the law says you can cut to the bone, does not mean that central states has to.
ONE BIG QUESTION??????????? If ups has cut a deal , saying ups teamsters will not be cut, because it would not be fair for ups to make up the difference.
Then this smells of bribes and payoffs, PLUS , It would be discriminatory, to cut everyone else and not them. After all we are all brothers. RIGHT ?????

If ups drivers do not have to take a cut, then the rest of us will have to pay more to right the ship. THIS IS WRONG AND I BELIEVE MILLER AND KLINE SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED, TO FIND OUT IF THEY TOOK BRIBES.

Can someone help me take this viral or begin a topic on this, I am going to write to everyone, starting with Obama, and working right on down. Thanks ESP

I am not against the cuts, but I am against discrimination in every form.
Well, I've been told UPS has always been on the hook for the difference if this ever should become reality, which it has, but they ARE getting special treatment via a "carve out" that is hurried in the 161 page rider. Supposedly on pgs. 61 or 81, where I looked, but couldn't decipher all the legalese gobuldigook. But rest assured UPSers, you would only be affected as a last resort, if ever. So don't sweat it.

I started in this business at Yellow way back in the early 80's and I remember every 3-5 years when our contract would end and it was time to vote for a new contract that we would vote to have more of our potential earnings go towards pension rather than receive more money in our pockets and it would be guaranteed when I got old and now it is up to our government to DESTROY everything that we voted for when we were young workers....This is sickening to me and every retired Brother and Sister out there....Some rich politican by the stroke of his or her pen will make our lives more difficult to live.....I will be damn if I will just lay here and take it.....We worked for years and years to get what we worked for and now it will be SLASHED..........There has to be other alternatives......Why did Hoffa let UPS slip out of the funds and why did he not put Overnite when they became UPS freight into the pension plan?......He must be held accountable because all this happened under his watch......Nuff said....

This is going to be a blow to many involved. Most live fairly well on their pensions and there are no doubt many that need every dime because of medical bills or emergency's that has put them in this situation. There are a lot who still don't even know this is happening and won't until they get the surprising letter from Central States about cutting out whatever percent is finally decided on. I have some retiree friends I have recently called who tell me that cuts can never be done or they don't believe it will be done. They think I'm nuts or just trying to ruin their day.

Getting hit with a 30 percent to up to a 66 percent cut is outrageous. Not including every retiree or future retiree with the same cut is wrong, including UPS'er's and everybody at the top. It might not be so bad if it was only going to be a 10 percent cut. It's gonna happen though and you know just as well as I that whatever is decided on will not be the last of it. More cuts in the future? I'm going to see if I can get into the conference call that will be held in a few minutes.

If these cuts do occur and the funds status improves in the future, is there any provision for returning to full payments?
I'm pretty sure the bill prohibits that; at least automatically. Perhaps the trustees could do it later? But the bill also prohibits lawsuits to force such.

I really agree with you, the age and ups agreements, are totally discriminating , however.......I am an ORPHAN, I cost to much and don' count.:1904:

I don't agree with the ORPHAN part. You paid into the fund just like everybody else. You too gave up pay raises in the past contracts to put our raises in the fund to keep it solvent.
