Yellow | New trucks in Chicago shop......

No cameras in Sleepers yet from the company, but since the cameras are cheap now's at the truckstops some drivers have them in the Windows, I assume it's for there own protection our to show family and friends some of the crazy things they see over the road

Can you use a memory card?

Bigtruk, sorry for the delayed response. Yes, it uses a micro SD card up to 32Gb capacity. It has no internal memory for video. At a lower resolution (720p, 60fps settings) it can record over 8 hours continuously. You can set it to record a long trip that way or set it to just keep loop recording which continues to generate multiple files of about 5 minutes in length for possible event/accident documentation. There are quite a few options for various settings you can utilize. It's a pretty neat camera. If I can find the user manual online I'll post a link for you for more info.

Bigtruk, I found instructions for that model camera here: http://www.octabode.com/herb/Baiklov_Instructions.pdf

I didn't order mine from Baiklov, but from the guy in the link on my earlier post. He was highly recommended in my online searching.

I use the 4sight dash cam. What happens if you are in an accident. You become incapacitated for a short time in the hospital. The video on your dash cam becomes damming to your defense. Is the dash cam your own intellectual personal belonging or what is the rule on this

I'm not a lawyer (although some have accused me of thinking I am one on TB) so I can't answer that. I'll bet though that I could become a millionaire if I could invent a dash cam which would self-destruct when the owner is at fault in an accident.

You gotta work on your salesmanship, Trip. If you can sell, you'll make the big bucks. Otherwise, you're just forfeiting the rights to investors in the 'Shark Tank.'

The video will become evidence no matter who owns the intellectual rights to it, just like the data in the ECM/Cab controller can be used if collected properly.

I was involved in an accident a few years ago in which I was sued. Later on my cell phone bill was subpoenaed by the plaintiffs attorney. I'm sure if you have a camera like this in the truck it will be used against you in case of an accident.

first on I see in the tractor , I drive naked... that will give them a eyeful!

A lot of railroads have installed cameras in locomotives to show what actually happens when idiots drive around crossing gates, get struck by the train, and then sue the railroad.
