ODFL | congress suspends restart rule

Everyone will be happy. But,I didn't like the new rule change. But,problem now is the over hiring to cover the new rule's last year. Now,I see that you going to have alot of driver's sitting at home or looking for another job.
Your right, they are now going to have bid people working 6 days a week now because you can now do a restart. (night line runners) At least at my barn that's how its going to roll down. I do hope we are wrong though, I do not like to see people starve.....

With fuel prices falling I'm guessing we'll see an economic boom after the first of the year. Probably gonna need even more drivers to keep up. The suspension of the current rules will help and I'm glad congress did it and hope they leave it alone the rules prior to 2013 were working just fine. In the short term it might be a lil rough on the paycheck.

Great, something else to look forward to... I am probably one of those over-hires. And here I thought I had a place to call a career. Wonderful.

You should have stay'd in local. We are busy, busy up here.Linehaul has been running 100% Most tractor's are gone.Told us"city driver's" could not run linehaul this past weekend. We didn't.But,dispatcher said you could have used all the help he could get. That's why I just don't get what's going on down there.Going to have to call my contact down there&see what is really going on.Good Luck..Also,we are still hiring up here&having school's&everyone is staying busy

Must be nice... I was due up almost 12 hours ago and was like #25 when I finally called... I believe they've called around 12 drivers since midnight last night so my chances of working even tomorrow aren't looking great.

To be honest I have no idea. We keep adding so fast I can't keep count. Last I knew between wild turn, extraboard, schedule and teams we had over 200 on linehaul. It's somewhere around 250 now I'm guessing.

The falling fuel prices don't indicate "economic boom" ... It indicates a world economy in distress and the start of the economic upheaval to come ...
