FedEx Freight | New Kenworth L trucks

Kenworth/Peterbuilts have the worst interior layout ever.

Could they have located the air and trailer valves any further from the driver?

Gear selector controls way the hell over there, where I have to reach for them? Thats handy.

Volvo all the way! Where the air valves are located as they should , and the gauge area can hold my snacks, a cell phone , sunglasses, and a can of dip.

Ten four. Volvos are the best by a mile.

Also heard of new tractors with no hand brake in cab. Makes it impossible to check for air at back of a set of wiggle wagons. Why.....

My Cascadia and a lot of the newest Kenworths INCLUDING this L truck have a valve on the dash (slider on this Kenworth) that clearly displays itself as PreTrip Brake Check. Same function as pulling a hand valve down including brake lights coming on, I like it better than using a bungee cord on a hand valve.

I did notice right away that in the picture it looked a little bit out of the way for the air valves. Is the radio just as inconvenient to operate too? Should I even inquire if they included a cup holder?

Having something that is clearly labeled PreTrip Brake Check would necessitate having employees with a modicum of reading comprehension.

Bumpy ride, tight inside, I think the speedometer is off like 5mph. Gauge shows 65mph and people pass me easily, think its really doing 60mph, no cruise control, base model basic. I prefer Volvo!

Lol... I just can't believe that a company would buy truck's with out air ride suspension! They are starting to go cheap on our equipment purchases.
I can't believe they are actually buying new city tractors. Nothing but reclassed road trucks at our barn for at least the last ten years. Having said that I would still rather have a Volvo with 500,000 miles on it than the "Smurf" size new KW,s.

They have to throw you guys a bone every now and then! (:
The truth is L units have no resale value, thus, it's not wise to invest tons of money into these units.
Road tractors, even after re-classed to the city, still bring decent money on resale....whether they're sold to Mexican companies or YRC....and before you guys respond, yes, we HAVE sold our worn out POS to YRC in the past...that company will buy almost anything!
