That's an 7000 series White Elwood. Known better by it's nickname "Jap Freightliner"

Loved that 'bowed' shifter...

A little extra 'play' in the wheel provided honed skills on two lane, ten foot wide, crowned county roads with no shoulder. (just a 3-6 inch dropoff)

It was like walking on scaffolding though, you would step over a 2 inch drop where the boards overlap and it felt like you had just jumped out of an airplane!!

First model tractor I drove back in the early seventies.

First tractor I drove was a Dodge tractor leased from Dan's Trucking and Leasing, Allen Park Michigan.
Anyone remember where the first Jones Transfer Terminal was off of Ecorse Rd. Where Ecorse Rd. goes up the hill and now there's a Walmart?

Went from International straight trucks to one similar to this relic when I first got into the household gig. 427 gas with a 10 speed spicer. 80 mile and hour top end, but if you missed a gear on the way up, or down, you were starting over!!
