Did everyone say bye to your billing clerks? More jobs gone. I heard they went to the Middle East and the Philippine Islands. It's pretty embarrassing that as bad as the jobs market is these people would pull this crap. It is so anti-American. Any more working for these people is a slap in the face.
I can see it now, complaints from customers because they can't understand the non-Anerican on the other side of the phone.

Turns out there is a lot more waste and errors than was advertised with the whole overseas thing. Might be one of those reversed ideas.

Wall Street is not your friend

We all know the corporation lacks any loyalty and answers only to our stock holders. That's why Conway needs incentives.

I wonder if there is any outfit out there that could have helped our CSRs...

Unfortunately, this concept has been in the works for a few years. The risk was vetted about customer complaints, language barriers and operation processes and business acumen...these are things that are taught over time and often at the expense of the cusotmer...in the end, it boils down to money and savings.

It isn't going to save them any money. City DSR's have to put in the info when they pick up the freight, They will take their time because they are on the clock. The more that is pushed on them the slower they go. The Company has to employ people to transfer B.O.L.'s at the service centers. They also have to employ people at a call center to handle calls from customers and the billers from overseas to take care of problems. Have to employ the billers overseas plus have a building and equipment so they can do their job. Seems to me there is alot more overhead for a job that one person to do at a service center that is already manned and the lights are already on. If there is a problem with the billing the W&M people can't do their job. I see it as a big mistake.

Gateway terminals into Canada and Mexico are keeping their billers. There's no way to get the bills processed and to the brokers in time to get the shipments crossed the same night if they are billed overseas.

I was a biller until last April...full time got bumped down to part time, lost my benefits. There's no reason for a customer to speak with the off-shore billers, all billing questions still come to the service center. We're a small outbound location and still have a few errors that we have to fix. I knew my shippers and would "correct" their little goofs and knew what they were trying to do, not so with the off-shore folks. Are all service centers (aside from gateways) imaging their BOLs and DRs? I would certainly like to get back to full-time status...

That must be why I have heard it both ways. We send so much Canadian out of here.

I am sorry for your hardship. It doesn't look good.

People don't matter, money does. I wonder if Stotler thought about that when his daughter was run over and bus company chose cheap steering wheel holders over more expensive drivers. Money over people great business practice if it's not your family.

That whole story did not play out to the drivers as he intended. It was immediately after that video that the new union movement started. Guys were furious. In my time here, there has never been a more solid division of us and them, if not even ... him. People were talking about how proud he was of hounding that driver and making sure he/she couldn't work again. And tying the driver up in costly litigation. Getting their license suspended and so on. If that's how he treated them how would he treat us ?

I am sure that losing a child is painful. I won't doubt that. But I work in a large metro. I have seen a lot of dead people. This is not a hypothetical to me. It's just as real. Every time I get behind that wheel could be my last or someone else's.

That's a cheap shot. You may not like stotler, or how he runs this company but to drag his daughter who was killed in tragic accident into it? That's cold hearted ::shit::, thanks for making the whole TB board look bad.

I agree that united was unkind in his delivery. But it was nothing compared to what I heard drivers say about that video. And every time a guy got canned after. It would all come back up again.

This is one of those topics that the pro crowd loves to harp on. Soap box speech usually ends with a rhetorical question that goes something like..... Why can't we " walk the walk " on respect as well ?
