I did not drag his daughter in, he did. We had to sit through a video of Stotler telling us about how much disdain he had for professional drivers and how our decisions affected peoples lives. My statement was meant to be harsh. Management makes decisions on a daily basis that can have life or death implications based solely on dollars and cents. They don't think about the people that are affected so that they can put a few more pennies in their pockets.

Are you that intoxicated on Blue Kool- aid that you can only look at everything from Con-Ways view. If you had to wait for him to tell you that driving an 80000lb. vehicle affected others , I'm sorry. How's this for arrogant? I have driven millions of safe miles and I will never kill anyone with a bigtrk. Now that your thinking again,I will point out I'm retired and no longer drive bigtrk that is how I can make that statement. I cannot believe that you can't comprehend the point that I'm making. My point is: Money is completely running this company with no feelings for anyone but themselves.

Stotlar exploited his daughter's demise. He used sympathy to promote safety and personal loss to illustrate gravity. The safer we are, the more profits the corporation gets to keep. The more profits the corporation keeps, the more $ Stotlar gets.
 
Heard beer got banned. What did he say that was so wrong? He and I speak outside of truckingboards even though we disagree fundamentally about Con-way. He asked me to post for him as he has decided not to come back from his timeout. Sez he doesn't want to get treated like a 12 year old. He feels his message shouldn't have been deleted. I don't know, just the messenger here, don't shoot!

its simple. You can't attack people personally. Calling someone a POS is a personal attack as well as evading the language filter. His choice whether to come back or not. No harm, no foul.
 
The whole Con-way board needs to take a big time out. This whole union or not thing is getting out of hand. And I guarantee that management likes the fact y'all are attacking each other.

its actually been very quiet. Minimal involvement on my part. People are free to express their concerns and opinions, either pro or anti union. This board is about all discussions. Could care less what management thinks.

And then all of our shortcomings were blamed on the last president when all they were doing was exactly what Stotler instructed them to do. Does anybody really think those presidents could've made decisions like they did without their bosses approval?
And remember, all of those benefit and wage changes were not our president's decisions. ALL of those decisions belong to our parent company.

Yes, the corporation is loving our fighting. And some of us on here know that. I have played right into their hands. I was here and active for a few years before my truckingboards.com start date indicates and this is the most infantile this place has become.

Am pretty sure the board has quieted for two reasons;
1) The union's momentum has slowed.
2) The playground has become a children's free for all.

I am ashamed to say I am part of the problem as I have allowed myself to get sucked into this adolescent quagmire. And my behavior pisses me off! I do help to perpetuate a toxic environment.

Predominantly, I have been a competitive person and when faced with opposition that was on lesser levels, my performance would lower to that level. Odd, but I did not regress consciously. Historically, this occurred as I watched but could do little about it. As a result, I would sometimes lose matches/games that should have been won decisively. In other words, I choked. Am not saying I should win handily here, but my game is so much better when the other is better or as good. Winners rise to the occasion. Although, what we do here should not be a competition as we should simply share a mature dialogue. I relate this competitive parallel only as an illustration.

The opportunity for a healthy, stimulating exchange is not present currently, so I will take a break and will hopefully check back in soon. I need a little fresh air. Am sure that makes many, including some super mods very happy. Please accept my apology for the arrogant tone. It probably would of been best if I said nothing, but I did regardless.

We were doing just fine until the outsiders blew up all over it. And I ain't talking about guys like you that add to the conversation. Some people want to silence or control other people. Dictate what is said and by whom. It's hard for me to believe people like that are actually drivers. They wreak of a job description better suited for sitting at a desk than at a wheel. I spend all day running my mouth with drivers from all over about this or that while waiting for a door. I can talk to any driver about anything. Truck stops, weather, roads, routes, dispatchers, home time, hours, logs, rigs, trailers, loads..... It is against our nature to be closed minded. Anything can happen at any time. You had best be expecting it to.
