ODFL | Wondering If I'll Have to Switch to P&D

LOL. I appreciate you guys. Truckerhog, you must've mistaken me for somebody else, I'll be the LAST person you'll ever read that's complained or whined about OD. I had 1/2 dozen LTL companies to chose from, and I chose OD, because I believe OD is the damn finest LTL company to work for. I love my linehaul manager, my dispatchers are fantastic, pretty much every driver I've ran into has been willing to bend over backwards to help another driver. I know how good I have it. :grouphug:

I locked up a pallet jack for you to use when you decide to come over lol. Glad you're able to work things out.

Yes,melatonin does work. But,speaking from experience start with the lowest dose&work yourself up.I order'd some but the does was to high.Felt like crap when waking up.You can order it from Puritan's Pride.I get all my vitamin's,etc from them.
You can get Melatonin at Walmart, Kroger, and most other pharmacies in grocery stores. The main thing I find with Melatonin is that you have to be ready to lay down and sleep. If you go over the initial sleepiness it does not work.

Yep, I've tried melatonin and you definitely need to use it properly. It's not a sleeping pill. It an actually backfire if not used properly. Depending on how long I have before I need to be ready for work, I actually have been using Benadryl. It works for me. Usually only 25 mg for an afternoon nap, and if I have 6-8 hours before I have to be able to report to work.

I've been flipping my weekends as of late and so far so good. Then again, I have a short run, so I'm not sure how this would work if I had a 500+ mile schedule run. As long as I can continue to make this work, I'll keep rolling with it. Otherwise, it'll be back to keeping a night shift schedule, even on my weekends off.

Thanks for all the help drivers. And BillyLo, you can keep your pallet jack... :05.18 flustered:

Yep, all the line guys think us city boys live in tents underneath overpasses!!! But the truth be, a lot of us are not too far off from what the line drivers make a year. Not close to the 6 figure boys, but we still bring in enough to keep the wife happy.

Good lord, everything comes down to city vs. line with you. Truth be told, most line drivers have worked city at my barn. Maybe that's why we don't have this constant us vs. them mentality. Or maybe we just respect the jobs each of us do for OD and treat one another with respect. You boys back east should try it. Makes for a fun environment when you can turn over the tractor at the end of your run to a guy who says "good morning" and you in return wish him a safe day.

Both jobs at OD are good. Which ever one you pick you'll be in good shape. Good luck and safe travels to you Waw.

Sum's this one up.lol

I hear the ol' FedEx windbag a humming again.

Very insightful!! And the only thing "FedEx" about me is the fact I was smart enough to leave. I've been asked to go back and turned that opportunity down. OD brought me on and this is where my allegiance lies. This company has doubled in size over the decade and not everyone is an OD original. Your bitterness for what others make and where they came from show a lack of apparition for what OD and others who worked for other ltl's bring to this industry. Times change and people change jobs, maybe you should think about it for your own happiness, because I'm not leaving anytime soon
