FedEx Freight | Info on FedEx awesome pension

Oh but Red... Using your very own logic, FXFE would be expected to have a higher compensation package than UPSF, since FXFE is number 1, right? Using your logic, NOT mine...
We were talking FedEx Express vs FedEx Freight and just like most union supporters, you throw UPS into the mix...

My bad, I should have left off the names to protect the innocent. Would your logic have carried more weight, or been more consistent, if stated as #1 vs #2, 3, 4, etc?

Again, I'm not one to say the most profitable must be top compensated. It was your logic...

I'm not saying the most profitable "must" be top compensated either, was just merrily providing my opinion as to why Express' pension may be slightly higher than Freight's.

This isn't a union debate thread, just curious as to why you would bring UPS into the mix when we were discussing FedEx, that's all.

Red, Red, Red... I only used UPSF as an example because they have a superior package, universally. I could have used another, but I coudn't be sure that it applied in all cases.

I didn't bring the forbidden topic into this discussion. I wasn't even thinking along those lines. In fact, you were the one who stepped in. I'm sure it was inadvertently. No foul, I could easily have done the same, unintentionally. Really!

Just messing with you because of the logic you used. Logic, by definition, requires consistency of principals.

Not trying to get into a pissing contest but you brought UPS into a conversation about FedEx Express vs Freight...why bring UPS into the mix in the first place?
You asked a question to which I provided an answer....with my opinion. Instead of providing an answer with your opinion concerning the difference between Express' pension vs Freight's pension, you brought in UPS...that is your logic...

Notice that I never said your opinion was wrong, nor your logic... Not really that big of a deal. And we can only speculate why, anyway.

You are right. However, under the plan rules, fedex can exercise it's rite, claim underfunded, and take it from you. You get nothing. It's all there in black and white. Look it up at work.

What Black Dog Marfa was saying is that the company loves us and out of the goodness of it's heart has decided to give a pension and we should bow down and give thanks for their generosity.

Okay, we get it Franklin. You're unhappy, yet unwilling to leave. You'd rather stand around and bitch about everything. Good deal.

Or you could be grateful you now have more than what you had 5 years ago.

You guys crack me up. Yeah people want less when they retire wellfare pension for everyone. :lmao:
I doubt anyone wants less. Many want way more than is reasonable. Do you have any idea how much money it takes to provide for a quality retirement? Doubtful. Most folks expect the company to provide outrageous amounts of money for them.

I think the company should send me me me a $1000 check weekly when i retire, I don't think that's asking to much???:1036316054::lmao:

So now we can't afford a respectable pension, you should move to management your good at talking in circles. Who said we want a unreasonable amount? If it was decent i wouldn't say a word not asking for what UPSF is geting.

Not to nit pick, but your (Viking?) plan was more reasonable, but not unreasonable, right? What we have is not quite what you have. Not knocking you or your benefit, just clarifying the facts.

I'm not the biggest (or loudest) of pension advocates. I'd prefer the highest of wages, so I could put those gains into a Roth IRA, for example. That would require personal responsibility. Don't get me wrong, I do understand the merits of the pension. I just think equal or greater value could come by other means.

I would prefer a higher match on the 401 before improvement In the pension. The 401 is a huge opportunity for those willing to defer some of their income for later.

That would be good but it can disappear in a day from your 401k like back in 2008, everyone lost a boat load of money when the market took a dive. I would rather have something guaranteed to each their own.
