FedEx Freight | Are we merging or not?

If so, I will be the first on here to admit I was (am?) wrong. Since our east coast brothers live in the future from us on the west coast....(3 hours), what's the scoop?

The meeting we were supposed to have today that was especially mandatory for us to be at was pushed back till friday. If they were to announce something about a merger I can't see them doing it before they release the quarter results tomorrow. I'm ready for this week to be over I'm tired of all the questions from people that want to know what I know which is the same as they know. If we do merge I feel bad for the drivers that will loose their jobs. At my center we had a few drivers that got laid off a few years ago an were able to get on at national within days are now possibly out of a job again. Good luck and hold on it may be a bumpy ride.

I am not seeing a whole lot of difference between the last two. IIRC at one time the National site spoke of three to five day and in some cases seven to nine day delivery times...that has disappeared.

The Freight Extended services appears to have acquired that piece of the puzzle.

Things seemed to have flip-flopped.

No mention of service times on the National site.

Why???

There are times when info must be garnered from other sources...and additional research is warranted.

Volumes of potential info here...then again it may mean nothing. However with all the talk of merging I thought this was a curiousity of some merit.

Anyone have a thought on this?

Re-registered for this, but I heard earlier this morning CCI had some big wigs show up to discuss this topic. I'm not sure if it's to squash it or confirm it bout I do know that FXN biggest hub is right down the street from the freight terminal.

No matter what it's all about, we should for sure know by this evening...

My TM said the meeting is pushed off till next week. What a big let down.

National employees in a variety of cities have been notified of meeting times on Thursday. AOL Finance reports that Fedex quarterly numbers will be released prior to trade opening. Will be old news by 8:15. Prayers to everyone because this might not shake out in many peoples favor.

Alright guys, word from Ohio says that Fedex national is being merged with freight. National terminals will be split and spread among freight terminals according to size and room.

The worry was seniority and they say that national employees will be given the July 1st 2007 seniority date which was when Fedex bought Watkins.

Good luck to all....

Probably, they'll go by their seniority at Watkins. Whoever hired on first at Watkins will be given seniority at Freight over the second one hired at Watkins and so on.

Another question - If someone hired on at Freight on July 1st 2007, will they be given seniority over the National drivers coming in?

FXNL drivers will use their original hire date as their seniority date for placement in their current job claification along with board seniority. For example lets say that A driver started in 1990 and went to linehaul in 2000 and B driver started in 1999 and was hired in as a linehaul driver then A driver would have first rights to transfer and if both A and B driver transferred to the same SC then B driver would retain board seniority over A driver. Hope this makes sense.

Looks like the time was pushed back, which technically makes me wrong sir....My Bad......

Big Meeting tomorrow morning.....

But how does that work in with the freight guys when they transfer in? FXNL driver has been with the company since 2007, does he bump a FXF driver who has been with the company since last year or week?

looks like all those linehaul boys who gave us city guys a bunch of crap about who makes more money will soon feel like us. welcome to our world! KINDA
