I have had some run in's with the RTA police while delivering food down town. We have stops on Euclid that are now undeliverable and we risk getting a ticket. The city of Cleveland want's growth, but they are not ready for it.

Anyhow this is a story on the news. All the guys in this video I have worked with and know one of them is actually an ex-coworker of mine as we worked for the same company.

Then I have at the very least 2 great alternatives.

1) make ALL deliveries at night, and the business MUST have someone there to accept the loads.

2) if this cannot be done, then make ALL the businesses go to the trucking companies and get thier own shyte.

I think it's a done deal, either of my way.

Utterly stupid. Many years ago I drove a Budweiser route truck. The manager of a Winn Dixie told me to park way out in the parking lot. It's 6:00am in the mornings and I was always gone by 7:30. After a couple of weeks with no Budweiser on the shelf, his boss called my boss and my boss told his boss that when it comes to his salespeople pushing beer on a handcart, they are the boss.

Let the restaurant and bars fight city hall. Stop deliveries until they force city hall to stop the tickets.

After I got into LTL, I had a place in Swansboro NC, that got deliveries about twice a week. It is a nice little tourist trap to get your wife to spend your money. Nice place though. On my first delivery, I got a parking ticket, as well as on my second delivery. My company paid them and told me to find another place to park. Problem was, the next place to park was two blocks away. So on my third delivery I called the store, told them I was not parking in front of their store, nor was I going to roll 35 boxes, 2 at a time, two blocks. She hit the ceiling. Called my dispatcher, called her husband. He shows up screaming and yelling. Someone calls the cops. Cops show up. Lots of bickering back and forth. I tell the cop to call the Mayor and let him/her settle the issue of parking tickets given to drivers making deliveries. Guess who the Mayor was? Yep. The ladies husband is the Mayor. Took out my phone, called dispatch, let him listen to the Mayor ranting and raving about not getting his deliveries made to his store. About two minutes into it all, dispatch told me to just drive away. They started meeting me at a mini storage.....WITH HELPERS.

Entitlement mentality here in the US. Most politicians and leaders are extremely intellectually lazy and don't ever really think things through very well.

Start tagging and towing cars that park in delivery zones. They do that in Morgantown,WV. Park on a red line during delivery times(6am-11am or 6am to 2pm) and they tag and tow, no questions, no warning.

and that is the way it should be. too many "i'll just be here for a minute" idiots.

If the tow/tag zone is clearly marked, then dammit, do it.
