CF name taken by Con-Way

there was a time that speed wasnt the issue; it was doing a good job and being proud of the company you worked for. Thats what the CF people taught me. They were proud of the equipment they drove too, cause after all, it said CF on the door, and no other explanation was nesessary!

I dont know the trucks go the same speed as those cf junkers. Giddy up pony.

FED-X must love you.....Point A to point B as hard as you can and don't give a SH$T.....You sound just like the wonderfully joyful people around here that work for them....Good company man.....

I miss seeing all the old companies...And the people were proud to do what they did.......I had an old CF guy helped me out with customers, teeling them I was young but OK and to cut me alittle slack. Being young and the company I worked for I needed all the help I could get.

It seems like there are alot of personal attacks toward con-way employees here. I really don't think any of us had anything to do with the downfall of cf. i know i didn't. the blame should be on the company big wigs and corporate greed, but it seems con-way drivers are the taking the brunt of it here. i was shocked the day they shut cf's doors. i didn't want to see it happen. i wish it didn't happen. even the whole spinoff thing. could you imagine cnf with cf and con-way today? could've been the worlds largest trucking company! I would've been proud to work along side cfers union or not.

just wanted to add; the comments about the loss of jobs being a good thing, or wishing misfortune on others, are totally out of line. show some class. also the whole "taking the CF name..." let it go.

Welcome to the boards con-man.

Personally, I never had a problem with any Conway drivers but I did have a HUGE problem with the way CNF handled the whole situation

Here in lies the problem with all of the buyouts....We, the drivers and such, take it out on eachother and not the true ones responsible.....Con-way people are just trying to do what all of us are trying to do...survive!!!! But they are on the front line and the chicken sh$ts that make the decisions........

The last few comments represent just what the companies want to see. Fighting with each other to divide the workers .... one side is better then the other mentality .... that way the mega corporations can continue to offer different wage and benefit packages while we all do the same job. Fear of closing the company, moving locations, loss of employment all illustrate the fear they instill in the workers to keep us under control.
I don't believe any Conway driver had any motive or desire to see CF closed down, but the corporation itself had plenty of reasons .... dollars .... more for them and less for everyone else. This seems to be the American corporate way.
May the board of directors and executive team from CF ( CNF ) find a warm place in hell as their day approaches.

they will be waiting in a long line.

The fight is still not over, I am still trying to stop the bankruptcy from going through. The Emery Pilots have found the Fraud and I have found enough to stop the bankruptcy from going through. We needed a forensic auditor for only $5,000 dollars to start and $20,000 to validate the cooking of the books. I have five lawyers on malpractice and two corrupt judges have decided to go along with their top notch lawfirms, but guess what I was too smart and I am appealing their defective judgements, and the appeallate courts are very upset and siding with me or should I say Consolidated Freightways employees. The battle is not over with. The teamsters union sold us out by not representing me or us against these corrupt evil corporate mafia folks. I am working with Emery pilots and they are suing CNF inc. for $500,000 million!!! As your union steward from Sacramento, Ca. I will not forget what happen and I am going to stop the Bankrutpcy from going through on FRAUD and Conspiracy! It's been a hell of a fight, so far!, The solution is to now stop the illegals from coming over here and taking our excellent union jobs, please start faxing congress, all of you! Go to the Paul Revere site and sign up for the Numberone site and fax your representatives. Anyone in a truck accident and needs help, simply ask, I will send you a DVD of how to help you, we need to stick together! GOD BLESS!

Some bankruptcy claims take 10 and 20 years to wind their way thru the system. Everyone involved, from the lawyers to administrators continue to collect money from the company, so do you think they are in any hurry to finalize the proceedings ?
I have prepared a letter to the attorney representing the Teamsters asking for some information on the status of the bankruptcy at this time.
I will keep all informed on this site, if I receive any information.

well as much as i dislike con-way i like to think that teamster is as much to blame if they had toll cf they can have all the short line carrier they want as long as there union they no con-way and call cf roadway yellow and more out they forgot all about con-way but we will never know but i know one thing never got con-way one pound of freight if we didnt i tell a short line union carrier

if i left a some word's out sorry about that i get mad thing about this 25 year's is along time to give away retire now but miss the old cfwy

Just one more slap in the face to all the former C.F. employees.I guess it's par for the course from a low life company like conway! It may take a while but every dog has it's day!

Speaking of the CF name, I just noticed that the CF web site is no longer in operation. What you will see is an advertisement to sell the domain name instead.
This all but ends what little info could be had concerning the real estate assets.
All that's left is the money the lawyers will share before they dibble out a little portion to those dedicated employees who were shorted vacation, sick and personal days ... not to mention any out-of-pocket expenses.
Hopefully we will see some token payment before the year is done, at least enough to buy a six pack and a pizza !
